    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage by providing a pile with a hinge part deformed with smaller force than other parts, near a boundary between a liquefied layer and a nonliquefied layer of the ground. SOLUTION: A pile 10 is provided with hinge parts 11 at a pile head part and an intermediate part positioned near a boundary between a liquefied layer and a nonliquefied layer. The hinge is formed to be smaller in diameter than the other part of the pile 10 and formed of material low in strength and rigidity. In case of the liquefied layer flowing sideways due to an earthquake or the like, the pile is deformed being bent at the hinges 11. At this time, horizontal resistance of the liquefied layer is close to zero, and influence based on inertial force of a structure precedes the displacement of the pile 10 caused by sideway flow of the liquefied layer, stress acting upon the pile 10 between the hinges becomes zero, so that places other than the hinges 11 do not bend. The pile 10 can therefore be prevented from being damaged while being deformed following the deformation of the liquefied layer, and vertical load supporting function is ensured to hold pile function. The damage of the pile can be prevented without increasing pile strength, and cost can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the ground from floating up or sinking due to liquidification of the ground by providing a cut-off wall reaching a water- impermeable stratum from the ground surface arround the concrete body installed in the ground and closely sticking this cut-off wall to the wall face of the concrete body via an asphalt layer. CONSTITUTION:A reinforced concrete body 1 is arranged to use for a common ditch in the ground 2. Next, cut-off walls 3, 3 are provided at the area surrounding the concrete body 1 to reach the water permeable stratum 4 from the ground surface. Moreover, an asphalt layer is laid between the wall face of the concrete body 1 and the cut-off walls 3, 3 to closely contact each other. In this way, even when a liquidifying is brought about at the outer area of the cut-off walls 3, 3, these prevent the underground water from flowing into the surrounding area of the concrete body 1 and hence, the liquidifying does not easily happen in the inside of the cut-off walls 3, 3. And the asphalt layer 5 has a resistance against the deformation of the concrete body 1 due to an earthquake because of the visco-elasticity of the asphalt layer 5 to prevent the concrete body 1 from floating up and sinking down.
