摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a pile by forming a hinge part deformable following the displacement of a ground or structure on the head part of the pile. SOLUTION: An end plate 12 with a diameter larger than the outer diameter of a pile 10 by a prescribed dimension is formed while the material and thickness thereof are set so that it is yielded and deformed prior to the pile 10 when an external force acts on the pile 10 in an earthquake. The end plate 12 is integrally provided on the pile head part 10a of the pile 10, for example, consisting of a circular sectional steel pipe pile so as to be orthogonal to the axial line of the pile 10. The end plate 12 integrally provided on the pile 10 is fixed to the foundation beam 2a of a structure 2 by an anchor member 13 formed so as to have an allowable stress degree or less to shearing force to form a hinge part 11. When a horizontal external force acts on the pile 10, the hinge part 11 is plastically deformed. Thus, the damage of the pile 10 can be prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent liquefaction of the ground inside a cut-off wall by providing a cut-off wall reaching a water-impermeable layer in the ground and pumping up the underground water from the inside of the cut-off wall to temporarily reduce the underground water level in the cut-off wall. CONSTITUTION:A cut-off wall 5 is formed at the outer periphery of a building 4 on the ground having an easily liquidifying water-bearing stratum 3 on a water-impermeable stratum 1 like a clay stratum or the like to reach the water- impermeable stratum 1. And the underground water is pumped up from the inside of the cut-off wall 5 to reduce the water level inside the cut-off wall. Next, piles 6 are struck in the inside of the cut-off wall 5. And then the building 4 body is erected. After completion of erection of the building 4, pumping up is stopped to bring the water level to the original level. In this way, the effective vertical stress acting on the ground 3 is increased and also the resistance against liquefaction of the ground 3 is increased as well to prevent the ground from liquidifying.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage by providing a pile with a hinge part deformed with smaller force than other parts, near a boundary between a liquefied layer and a nonliquefied layer of the ground. SOLUTION: A pile 10 is provided with hinge parts 11 at a pile head part and an intermediate part positioned near a boundary between a liquefied layer and a nonliquefied layer. The hinge is formed to be smaller in diameter than the other part of the pile 10 and formed of material low in strength and rigidity. In case of the liquefied layer flowing sideways due to an earthquake or the like, the pile is deformed being bent at the hinges 11. At this time, horizontal resistance of the liquefied layer is close to zero, and influence based on inertial force of a structure precedes the displacement of the pile 10 caused by sideway flow of the liquefied layer, stress acting upon the pile 10 between the hinges becomes zero, so that places other than the hinges 11 do not bend. The pile 10 can therefore be prevented from being damaged while being deformed following the deformation of the liquefied layer, and vertical load supporting function is ensured to hold pile function. The damage of the pile can be prevented without increasing pile strength, and cost can be reduced.

And hence reliability of structure of the piles is high and even if the liquefiable layer is liquefied due to earthquake and reaction forces of the ground become insufficient, both the piles 2, 3 resist horizontal forces so that horizontal resistance of the building 1 can be ensured and further since the piles 2, 3 can be constructed at the same time, processes can be simplified and hence construction period can be shortened.

摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress vibration in a small volume by storing a bulk material of the specific gravity of no less than one, in a tank, and by liquefying the bulk material, so as to make the natural frequency thereof in the tank identical with that of a structure. CONSTITUTION:A vibration suppressing device 1 is installed on the roof of a structure, while a zircon sand 3 is stored in a tank 2, and a liquefying means 4 is provided. The liquefying means 4 is composed of a water storage tank 6 in which water 5 is stored, a feed pipe 7, and of a drainage pipe 9 provided with a pump 9. By generating the flow of an upward fluid on the gap of the zircon sand (bulk material), the bulk material is floated and is liquefied. By making the natural frequency of the liquefied bulk material and that of the structure identical, the vibration is suppressed. Since the specific gravity is defined not less than one, the volume is reduced compared with the case where the water is used as a fluid.

According to such a structure, even when a ground G' is liquefied according to the movement of the bulkhead 1 by earthquake, or the ground G on the opposite side is liquefied, its effect can be prevented from being extended to a foundation 3. Further, the liquefied ground G can be smoothly guided to both the sides. Thus, the term of works and the construction cost can be suppressed to a minimum.
