In this case, the number of knitting with the reinforcement knitting yarn with respect to the base section (10) is changed.

摘要： The shoe upper is tubular and has a toe, a body between the toe and the heel and including a tongue, heel, and a top line. The body includes the tongue covering the central part of instep, the right portion at the right side of the tongue covering the right side of instep and the right half of the sole, and the left portion at the left side of the tongue covering the left side of instep and the left half of the sole. The tongue and the right portion are connected by the right plating area 14 having a knitting width of two or more stitches knitted by plating-knitting where knitting yarns for the tongue and the right portion are overlapped with a constant relation of the front and the rear and made into stitches. The tongue and the left portion are connected by the left plating area 15 having a knitting width of two or more stitches knitted by plating-knitting where knitting yarns for the tongue and the left portion are overlapped with a constant relation of the front and the rear and made into stitches. The tongue and the right and left portions may be connected firmly on a knitting machine.

A seamless footwear (1) including an instep cover section (3) and a sole cover section (2) is provided. The sole cover section (2) is divided to a heel portion (20) and a sole main body portion (21). A setup portion (1S) or a knitting end portion is formed at a heel side end of the footwear (1), and such setup portion (1S) or the knitting end portion is extended in a height direction of the footwear (1) and also connected to the heel portion (20). The heel portion (20) is formed by a knitting of stacking a stitch row for plural tiers in a wale direction, and gradually differing the number of stitches in a knitting width direction of the stitch row when stacking tiers of the stitch row. The heel portion (20) is formed to a tongue shape in which a width gradually becomes narrower toward a heel side of the footwear (1) according to the change in the number of stitches.

The footwear knitting method is a method for knitting footwear (1) provided with a base knitted fabric portion (2) that has a foot insertion opening (5), and is shape of an item of footwear, using a flat knitting machine. The footwear knitting method includes: starting knitting of the base knitted fabric portion (2) from a toe side or a heel side of the base knitted fabric portion (2) to complete the base knitted fabric portion (2) with a left side part and a right side part of the base knitted fabric portion (2) facing each other in a front-back direction of needle beds; knitting an additional knitted fabric portion (3) that is separate from the base knitted fabric portion (2), and is bag-shaped with one end open and the other end closed, before or during the knitting of the base knitted fabric portion (2); and joining, using double stitches, a part of an opening edge of the additional knitted fabric portion (3) with a toe-side edge part or a heel-side edge part of an edge of the foot insertion opening (5) of the base knitted fabric portion (2).
