SOLUTION: With the vacuum valve provided with a vacuum vessel with a sealing metal fitting airtightly fixed at an opening end of a cylindrical insulating vessel having a convex part on the inside of a radius direction on an inside face, at least a pair of contacts free in contacting and separating arranged inside the vacuum vessel, and a shield having a small-diameter part with a diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the convex part and a large diameter part with a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the convex part and arranged inside the vacuum vessel so as to surround the contacts, the shield is inserted into the insulating vessel until the small-diameter part of the shield passes the convex part and the large-diameter part of the shield comes in contact with the convex part and an end part of the small-diameter part is plastically deformed at a plurality of points toward outside in a radius direction to fix it to the convex part.     • PURPOSE:To enhance reliability and facilitate assembly by forming first and second contact portions by plating nickel, nickel-phosphorus alloy, copper and silver thereon, in order. CONSTITUTION:Contact portions 16a, 18b are provided in first and second energizing shafts 16, 18 made of annealed copper material, respectively. The contact portions 16a, 18b are formed by plating nickel, nickel-phosphorus alloy, copper and silver in order. Accordingly, even if the first and second energizing shafts 16, 18 are welded to a sealing fitting 12a and a bellows 19, or a sealing fitting 12b under such a heating condition as to use silver solder, nickel of the nickel layer alloys with copper of the copper base. Meanwhile, since solid-insolubility of nickel and silver eliminates a silver flow, the same contact resistance and surface oxidation as those in the case of silver plating can be obtained. It is thus possible to facilitate assembly and enhance reliability with high dimensional accuracy.
