摘要： An apparatus 400 for sensing a pressure of a fluid from a fluid medium comprises a port body 414 with a peripheral wall 420 surrounding an interior channel 418 for receiving the fluid from the fluid medium. The interior channel extends between the fluid medium and a diaphragm 430 on the port body. A strain gauge 434 is affixed to the port body by a glass substrate 438. The strain gauge has a first 440a, second 440b, third 440c and fourth 440d resistors which are electrically connected between a first 444, second 442, third 448 and fourth 450 respective input/output pads and a ground pad 446. Four current sources provide a uniform, constant current to the input/output pads. A first output electrically connected between the first and second input/output pads measures voltage, and a second output electrically connected between the third and fourth input/output pads measures voltage. Each resistor is spaced equidistant from the ground pad to urge uniform mobile ion accumulation across the resistors or to reduce mobile ion migration (454b, 454c, fig.6). When the diaphragm experiences pressure, the second and third resistors experience tension, and the first and fourth resistors experience compression.

摘要： A single memory space of a device such as pressure sensor 120 (figure 1) having a dedicated functionality is partitioned to provide separate memory partitions 208, 210 for access by different processes along a production stream, wherein partition boundaries are determined by the data storage requirements of the specific process. Firmware 204 in the device controls the overall functionality of the device in addition to partitioning non-volatile memory. The firmware also controls how each of the partitions may be accessed by applying a number of different safety features for protecting data in the device, wherein the safety features include preventing alteration of data in a partition after completion of a manufacturing process. Data security is implemented independently for each partition in order to maintain functional safety compliance of the device. The different partitions can be created and accessed at different points in a production stream by different entities such as a device manufacturer, its customers and suppliers or other entities along the supply chain.
