    • Un método para someter a inmunoanálisis selectivamente un multímero de adiponectina diana seleccionado entreadiponectina peso molecular medio (Ad PMM) o adiponectina de peso molecular ultra bajo (Ad PMUB) en unamuestra biológica, que comprende:(1) para someter a inmunoanálisis selectivamente adiponectina de peso molecular medio (Ad PMM):(a) hacer reaccionar una muestra con una proteasa que digiere específicamente Ad PMUB y LMW Ad;(b) determinar la cantidad total de la adiponectina Ad PMM y Ad PMA no digerida que queda en la muestratratada en la etapa (a);(c) determinar la cantidad de Ad PMA en la muestra biológica a través de la reacción de una proteasa con unamuestra que contiene adiponectina, mediante la cual se digiere la adiponectina distinta de Ad PMA, y analizarselectivamente la Ad PMA que permanece después de la digestión con la proteasa mediante el uso de unanticuerpo anti-adiponectina, y(d) restar la cantidad de Ad PMA detectada en (c) de la cantidad total de adiponectina cuantificada en (b),donde la cantidad de Ad PMM corresponde a la cantidad cuantificada en (b) menos la cantidad de Ad PMAcuantificada en (c); o(e) restar la cantidad total de Ad PMUB y Ad PMB convertidas, que se ha determinado en la etapa (a) de lacantidad total de Ad PMUB, Ad PMB y Ad PMM como la cantidad total de adiponectina convertida mediante eluso de una proteasa para determinar la cantidad de Ad PMA según la etapa (c);(2) para someter a inmunoanálisis selectivamente adiponectina de peso molecular ultra bajo Ad PMUB, lacantidad de Ad PMUB contenida en una muestra se determinaa. tratando la Ad PMUB y la Ad PMB con la proteasa que digiere específicamente Ad PMUB y Ad PMB,b. calculando la cantidad total de Ad PMA y Ad PMM que queda, yc. restando de la cantidad total de Ad PMA y Ad PMM y la cantidad de Ad PMB de la cantidad total deadiponectina, que se ha determinado selectivamente, od. restando, de la cantidad total de adiponectina, la cantidad total de Ad PMB, Ad PMM y Ad PMA.

    • A method for selectively assaying a target adiponectin multimer in a biological sample, comprising a step of distinguishing target adiponectin multimer from the other adiponectin multimers by using a protease and an antibody to assay immunologically, wherein the adiponectin multimer is derived from human blood, and is of the following four types of adiponectin, and one or two of the four types of adiponectin are selected from the total adiponectin and immunoassayed, through use of a protease and an antibody; (1) ULMW-Ad: exhibits the highest mobility among the four main stained bands detected when adiponectin which has been purified from human serum or human plasma is electrophoresed on polyacrylamide gel (2 to 15%) under non-denaturing conditions, and has a molecular weight around 100 kDa as measured through SDS-PAGE after intramolecular crosslinking; (2) LMW-Ad: exhibits the second highest mobility, next to ULMW-Ad, among the four main stained bands detected when adiponectin which has been purified from human serum or human plasma is electrophoresed on polyacrylamide gel (2 to 15%) under non-denaturing conditions, has a molecular weight around 150 kDa as measured through SDS-PAGE after intramolecular crosslinking, and binds to albumin via a disulfide bond; (3) MMW-Ad: exhibits the third highest mobility, next to LMW-Ad, among the four main stained bands detected when adiponectin which has been purified from human serum or human plasma is electrophoresed on polyacrylamide gel (2 to 15%) under non-denaturing conditions, and has a molecular weight around 250 kDa as measured through SDS-PAGE after intramolecular crosslinking; and (4) HMW-Ad: exhibits the lowest mobility among the four main stained bands detected when adiponectin which has been purified from human serum or human plasma is electrophoresed on polyacrylamide gel (2 to 15%) under non-denaturing conditions, and has a molecular weight of 300 kDa or higher as measured through SDS-PAGE after intramolecular crosslinking.
