摘要： A structure for mounting a rotary member (A# to U#) is provided including employing a pair of opposed spaced sheet members (101, 102). First and second supporting structures (101a, 101b, 101c; 102a, 102b, 102c) are respectively formed at opposed locations on the sheet members, the supporting structures each being one of a projecting part (101b, 102b) and a burring part (101a, 102a). The rotary member is formed with one of an axial shaft or an axial bore on each side thereof for engagement with and support by a corresponding opposed pair of supporting structures. The support members may be either projecting parts, or burring parts. An image forming apparatus is also provided employing this improved structure for mounting a rotary member. The support structures are formed on frame portions of the image forming apparatus (U1).

摘要： The electrophotographic copying system uses a latent image support roll (101). A contacting transfer unit(104), to be in contact with the support roll (101), polarises the developer from the support roll (101). A recording sheet is placed between the support roll (101) and the transfer unit (104) to receive the processed image. The whole system is based on the following formula: R not less than 0.350 + (0.001H), where R in g/cc represents the volume mass of the developer in the aerated state and H represents the hardness (JIS A) of the transfer unit (104). The developer is composed of resin particles and of 0.5 to 4% in weight of at least two type of external additives having differing particle diameters to that to which they are added.

摘要： A developing device including a supply member (26) pressed to a toner carrier (32) having a hardness which is greater than that of the supply member and smaller than a hardness of 60 degrees. The supply member is rotated in the same direction as the toner carrier to conduct the stripping from, and supply of toner to, the toner carrier. A plate spring-like regulation member (35) is pressed against the toner carrier to charge the toner to a predetermined polarity and thin the toner into one or two layers. The toner carrier (32) is preferably a conductive rubber core (34) on a metal shaft (32) whereas the supply member (26) has a foamed core (28) on a metal shaft (27). Alternatively, the toner carrier may have a foamed core with a rubber coating (Fig. 2).

摘要： In an image forming apparatus of the present invention, a plurality of writing electrodes 3b are supported by an elastic and flexible substrate 3a such that the writing electrodes are aligned in a plurality of rows each extending in the axial direction of the latent image carrier (in the main scanning direction). The writing electrodes 3b are each formed in, for example, a triangle and are arranged in such a manner that the orientations of the triangles of the writing electrodes are alternately inverted. In this case, one end of the triangle base of a writing electrode is overlapped with one end of the triangle base of a next writing electrode 3b, as seen in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the latent image carrier 2 (the rotational direction of the latent image carrier 2; the feeding direction). Therefore, this design prevents occurrence of image defect due to linear stains and allows foreign matters adhering to the surface of the latent image carrier 2 to pass through spaces between the adjacent writing electrodes 3b.
