The foreign matter inspection process has: a first detection process of detecting the foreign matters positioned on the drawn medium by relatively moving the drawn medium and the detection device in the discharge scanning direction in a state in which the angle between a reference axis set in the drawn medium and the discharge scanning direction is a first angle; and a second detection process of detecting the foreign matters positioned on the drawn medium by relatively moving the drawn medium and the detection device in the discharge scanning direction in a state in which the angle between the reference axis and the discharge scanning direction is a second angle different from the first angle.
