The center case 21 is equipped with notches 214 through which the pin is inserted and the center case 21 is attached to the main lighter unit 11 by inserting the pin into the notches 214.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent finger injury when folding a turning arm of a foldable ignitor to make it compact, and to prevent ignition when an operation button is pressed by mistake.
      SOLUTION: The foldable ignitor 1 is comprised of a body 2 housing a fuel tank 106 and a piezoelectric unit, and having an operation member 8 in a side face, and a turning arm part 4 with one end turnably coupled with the body 2. It has a safety mechanism preventing folding of the turning arm part 4 when a foreign object 134 is interposed between the turning arm part 4 and the operation member 8 when folding the turning arm part 4. The safety mechanism has a turning blocking member 120 swiveled by operation of the operation member 8. The turning blocking member 120 has a first arm 121 pressed by pushing operation of the operation member 8, and a second arm 123 blocking folding of the turning arm part 4 when the first arm 121 is pressed by the pushing operation of the operation member 8 in an opposite side of a shaft support part 122.

It is preferable that a connecting mechanism 44 is provided for connecting each holding part 41-43, and allowing movement of a gas pipe 12 connected to the flame hole rod part 3 to be faced in another direction.

      SOLUTION: A locking member 50 composed of a pressing part 50a and a frictional engaging part 50b and rotatably journaled by a pin 51 is incorporated into a rear end part of a cap body 20a of an operation cap 20. Slide operation is usually restricted by frictional resistance when a lower end surface of the frictional engaging part 50b abuts to an upper end surface of a lighter body 1. When elastically deforming the locking member 50 by pressing the pressing part 50a, the frictional engaging part 50b rotates, and slips outside the upper end surface of the lighter body 1, and restriction of the slide operation is released so that the slide operation for discharge ignition can be performed.
