An analysis unit (7) is configured to determine a driving strategy for the vehicles in the vehicle platoon based on at least the driving profile and the transmission gear-change profile for the vehicle f k ; to generate a driving strategy signal that indicates the driving strategy, and to transmit the driving strategy signal to all vehicles in the vehicle platoon, after which the vehicles in the vehicle platoon are controlled according to the driving strategy.
