In one embodiment, a method includes creating a calendar event in an UPnP home network environment when a request for setting the calendar event is received by a Telephony Server (TS) from one of Telephony Control Points (TelCPs) in the UPnP home network environment. The method further includes notifying the creation of calendar event to the TelCPs in the UPnP home network environment. The method also includes determining whether the created calendar event has met pre-defined conditions, and triggering a notification indicating that the calendar event has met the pre-defined conditions to the TelCPs when the calendar event meets the pre-defined conditions. Additionally, the method includes modifying/deleting the calendar event when a request for modifying/deleting the calendar event is received from said one of the TelCPs.

摘要： The present invention provides a method and system for enhanced event notification in a universal plug and play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, a system includes a telephony server (TS) and at least one telephony control point (TelCP) connected to the TS via an UPnP home network. The TS is configured for fetching information associated with a remote party when an incoming event (e.g., a call, a message, update, etc.) associated with the remote party is arrived, where the incoming event notification includes contact information, image information, location information, presence information, and/or service capabilities associated with the remote party. The TS is also configured for forwarding the incoming event with an incoming event notification to the at least one TelCP in the UPnP home network environment. The at least one TelCP is configured for displaying the remote party information along with the incoming event notification on the display.

摘要： A method and system for transferring a file from a home network to Wide Area Network (WAN) user device using the UPnP telephony service is provided. The method includes receiving a request from a Telephony Control Point (TCP) to start a file transfer session. The request can include information associated with the file. The method then establishes a file transfer session using messaging service based on the request and file information received in the request from the TCP. Further, the method fetches the file from the TCP and stores in the TS. Thereafter, the method sends an invite to the WAN user device for initiating file transfer from the home network to the WAN user device. Then the method transfers the file to the WAN user device when acknowledgment of the invite is received from the WAN user device.
