摘要： An apparatus for processing streams is disclosed. The apparatus includes a trellis encoding unit which changes a part of streams with parities, a RS re-encoding unit which corrects at least one of parity part and data part of the streams, and generates new codewords to match the changed part of the streams, and a multiplexer which re-constructs the streams with the generated codewords. This enhances a reception quality of a broadcasting receiver.

The method includes: configuring a stream including a slot to which mobile data is allocated; and encoding and interleaving the configured stream and outputting the encoded and interleaved stream. Each slot of the stream includes signaling data, and the signaling data includes a slot indicator indicating a type of a slot, and may include at least one of a backward training indicator and a forward training indicator according to a value of the slot indicator. 摘要： A method for processing a stream of a digital broadcast receiver is provided. The method which processes a stream that is divided into a first area allocated to first mobile data and a second area allocated to normal data, includes: receiving a transport stream including new mobile data in at least a part of the second area separately from the first mobile data, demodulating the transport stream, equalizing the demodulated transport stream, and decoding at least one of the first mobile data and the new mobile data from the equalized transport stream. Accordingly, mobile data services may be provided in various ways.

The apparatus includes an adaptor which receives general data and generates a stream having a plurality of packets, and which provides adaptive field in some of the plurality of packets, and an inserter which inserts additional data into all the payload areas of some of the plurality of packets that are not provided with the adaptive fields. Because additional data is transmitted, without requiring adaptive field header in certain packet, data transmission rate is increased.
