    • Disclosed herein are an ultrasonic imaging apparatus which is capable of providing intuitive ultrasonic images and a control method which is implementable by using the apparatus. According to an exemplary embodiment, there is provided an ultrasonic imaging apparatus including: a flexible probe having a planar shape, which is configured to emit ultrasonic waves toward an object, and to receive an ultrasonic echo reflected from the subject; an image processor which is configured to trace an operator's eyeline from an image acquired by photographing the operator, and to process a three-dimensional (3D) volume data acquired from the ultrasonic echo based on the traced operator's eyeline, thereby generating an ultrasonic image; and a flexible display having a planar shape, which is disposed on one side of the flexible probe, and which is configured to display the ultrasonic image.

    • An ultrasonic probe capable of performing an ultrasonic test without using a gel by forming a vacuum state by removing air existing between the ultrasonic probe and an object during an operation of the ultrasonic probe, the ultrasonic probe including a motion sensor configured to sense a motion of the ultrasonic probe, an adaptor installed at a front end of the ultrasonic probe, and has an interior space thereof formed in a vacuum state to allow an ultrasonic wave irradiated from the ultrasonic probe to pass therethrough during an operation of the ultrasonic probe, and a controller configured to output a signal to cancel the vacuum state of the interior space of the adaptor if the motion sensor senses the motion of the ultrasonic probe.
