    • A mobile communication apparatus with an antenna array and a mobile communication method therefore are provided. A mobile communication apparatus includes a base station with an antenna array and a mobile station, wherein the mobile station which determines a channel downlink characteristic for each antenna using a signal transmitted from the base station, determines long-term information and short-term information based on the correlation of characteristics between channels for each antenna, using the channel downlink characteristic, converts the determined long-term information and short-term information to a feedback signal, and transmits the feedback signal to the base station, and the base station which receives the feedback signal, extracts a plurality of weights from the long-term information and short-term information restored from the received feedback signal, multiplies a multiplexed dedicate physical channel signal by the respective weights, adds respective pilot channel signals to the products, and transmits the results of the additions through the antenna array to the mobile station.

    • Provided are a mobile communication apparatus having an antenna array and a mobile communication method performed in the mobile communication apparatus. The mobile communication apparatus includes a base station and mobile station, each having an antenna array. The mobile station measures the downlink characteristics of a channel for each transmitter/receiver antenna pair from a signal received from a base station calculates the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the channel propagation matrix, uses the eigenvectors as basis, determines long-term information in which the correlation property of the channel for each antenna has been reflected from the measured downlink characteristics, transforms the long-term information into a feedback signal, and transmits the feedback signal to the base station. The base station receives the feedback signal, restores the long-term information from the received feedback signal, performs basis mapping and basis transformation on a dedicated physical channel signal using the restored long-term information, adds the basis-mapped and basis-transformed signal to each of pilot channel signals, and transmits the addition results to the mobile station. Accordingly, information in which the downlink characteristics of a space channel has been reflected is fed back from the mobile station to the base station, thus minimizing the effects of fading, interference, and noise and maximizing throughput.
