    • A method for patterning a substrate used for cell culturing is provided to pattern the surface of the substrate through more convenient and simpler process. And a patterned substrate prepared by the same method and a method for culturing cells on the patterned substrate are provided. The method comprises the steps of: (a) attaching a cover to a partial area of the solid support surface; (b) coating a hydrogel copolymer including repeating units represented by the formulae(1) and (2) on the solid support surface; and (c) removing the cover from the solid support surface. In the formulae, X1 is a single bond, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-10 alkylene, a substituted or unsubstituted C2-10 alkenylene, or a substituted or unsubstituted C6-20 arylene, each R1, R2 and R3 is independently H, a halogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-10 alkyl, or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-10 alkenyl, b is an integer from 10-100,000, X3 is a single bond, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-10 alkylene, a substituted or unsubstituted C2-10 alkenylene, or a substituted or unsubstituted C6-20 arylene, R5 is a functional group represented by the structural formula(2-a), (2-b) or (2-d), and d is an integer from 10-100,000.

    • A device for cell counting is provided to count cells having low cell density in a sample sensitively and inexpensively without additional cultivation or cell addition by using a magnetic label or magneto-resistance sensor, so that it is useful for diagnosis of AIDS or analysis of somatic cells in raw milk. A device for cell counting comprises: a cell adhesion substrate(10) for adhesion of a single cell coupled with a magnetic label on it surface, having a plurality of wells(11) corresponding to magneto-resistance sensors; a magneto-resistance sensor array(20) located under the substrate and having magneto-resistance sensors(21) for detecting the magnetic label, arrayed on a magneto-resistance sensor substrate(22); and a signal counting portion(30) which receives the signal generated by the magneto-resistance sensors and counts the signal number, wherein the label is a magnetic bead having diameter of 50 nm to 5 mum; and the magneto-resistance sensor is the GMR(giant magneto-resistance) sensor.

    • A cell culture chip is provided to monitor the status of cells floating in a culture medium as well as cells attached to walls of a culture chamber in real time and monitor the status of micro-scaled cells existing in a specific topical location. The cell culture chip comprises: a cell culture chamber(18) formed by side walls(11a,11b) of a non-conducting substance and a bottom(12) of a dielectric layer and receiving a cell culture medium; a semiconductor layer(13) placed at the lower portion of the dielectric layer; a metal layer(14) placed at the lower portion of the semiconductor layer; and an electrode(15) placed inside of the chamber. The method for monitoring cell culture in real time comprises the steps of: (a) supplying a cell culture medium and a cell to be subject to culture into the cell culture chamber of the cell culture chip; (b) culturing the cell in the cell culture chamber; and (c) measuring electrical parameters between the metal layer and the electrode.
