    • A machine for spreading fertilizer and seed in which the width of the machine with respect to its working direction of travel is greater than its length with respect to the working direction of travel. The machine comprises at least two individual machine units having lateral and transverse sides which units are assembled together in a lateral relationship to each other by means of laterally located hitch elements on each unit. Each unit has a chassis borne at three support points by swivel wheels and is provided with additional hitch elements on the transverse side towards the working direction. On each unit at least one swivel wheel is lockable in both a working direction of travel and in a transport direction of travel which directions are at right angles to each other. When assembled together through paired hitch elements, the machine units are pivotable with respect to each other about a pivot axis parallel to the working direction, and also pivotable about a second pivot axis running transversely to the working direction of travel. One of the swivel wheels on each unit when locked in the working direction is utilized to provide a rotating motion to metering means for the dispensing of fertilizer and seed from each machine unit.

    • A drill for applying seed and fertilizer, with a frame, reservoirs, sowing shares with at least two separate inlets for seed and fertilizer, and a depth-adjustment or pressure roller mounted behind each share, in which the materials to be applied are conveyed in controlled amounts to the shares for application into the soil, in which the shares are connected to the frame with parallelogrammatic mounts and the depth to which the penetrate into the soil can be adjusted by means of a setting device. The drill can be used for zero tillage even on rocky soil to apply seed and fertilizer separately because the sowing share is a chisel share on which a chisel is mounted on the side facing the direction of travel. The chisel share has separate guides for seed and fertilizer inside its body. The outlets for these guides are separated in the direction of travel by a certain distance with the first outlet positioned as close as possible behind the chisel point. The chisel point extends deeper into the soil than the two outlets.

    • A seed drill (FIG. 1 ) having a frame (1 ) with knife hoes (7 ) mounted thereon. The knife hoes are movable in a vertical plane and each has two laterally projecting wings (8 ) bent downwardly toward one another; the outer edges of the wings merge forwardly together to form a point. Each knife hoe has an upright strut (13 ) supporting the leading point of the knife. Further, each knife hoe is disposed on a shank (9 ) which is mounted on the frame with parallel guide means (10 ). The parallel guide means has at least one articulation (19 ) acting in a vertical plane, a stop (21 ) limiting forward swinging movement of the knife hoe about the articulation, and at least one resilient element (22 ) exerting a force on the knife hoe in the direction of the stop. The drill further includes a gauge wheel (16 ) for each knife hoe to limit the depth of penetration of the knife hoe into the soil.

    • A machine is provided which is mountable on another vehicle for effecting the pneumatic spreading of granular material along a working direction. The machine is of the type that has a central hopper divided in its lower area by a roof shaped middle part disposed in the working direction into two sections which have outlet openings and a metering device driven through a regulating drive which is receptive of material from the outlet openings. Tubes are provided which are receptive of material from the metering device and have a portion overreaching the hopper transversely of the working direction and discharge openings at the outer extremities thereof exposed at intervals from one another transversely of the working direction. A blower is situated forward of the machine and has an impeller shaft which is driveable by the powered take up shaft of the vehicle pulling the machine. An air duct connects the blower to the tube. In order to obtain a compact construction, the blower has the front walls thereof disposed behind the front wall of the hopper and the impeller shaft is mounted at the rear end of the hopper and is driven from the power take off shaft of the vehicle pulling the machine by a shaft disposed underneath the roof shaped middle part of the hopper.
