摘要： An intraoperative anastomosis method is described and comprises the steps of providing an intraluminal prosthesis having a first end and a second end; suturing a first vessel to a second vessel to form a vessel junction; intraluminally delivering the prosthesis so that the first end of the prosthesis is disposed within the first vessel and the second end of the prosthesis is disposed within the second vessel; and deploying the prosthesis so that the prosthesis overlaps and reinforces the vessel junction. The vessel suturing, prosthesis delivering, and prosthesis deploying steps may be performed in a single operation. Other devices, systems, and methods are described.

摘要： A blood test instrument using a disposable cartridge and a method of measuring a blood sample using the instrument are disclosed. The instrument includes a cell counting station for counting blood cells by electrical resistance measurement, a pressure actuating component adapted to apply a pressure alternately on two flexible receptacles of a disposable cartridge removably placed in the instrument to cause flowing of a mixture of a blood sample and a liquid agent between the two receptacles to obtain proper mixing, and a conduit adapted to deliver the mixture to the cell counting station for counting. After measuring the blood sample, the instrument withdraws a washing liquid contained in another receptacle of the disposable cartridge and uses the washing liquid to clean the instrument and to deliver the mixture back to the cartridge for disposal.

When a pressure variation is applied to a portion of the diaphragm sealing a receptacle, liquid is caused to be displaced to or from that receptacle.

At least three drive signal levels are utilized. The transition from the second level to the third level during a rising transition and the transition from the second level to the first level during a falling transition is timed to coincide with the arrival of the reflected signal from the immediately-preceding transition. A capacitor is advantageously used as the source for the intermediate drive signal levels and advantageously facilitates energy recovery and conservation.
