    • A mixed media outlet is provided that is capable of being mounted upon a wall and that includes ports that are typically designed to provide separate access to an electrical network and to an optical network. The wall mounted outlet can therefore permit a telephone to be connected to the electrical network, and a computer to be connected to the optical network. Alternatively, the outlet can permit a telephone to also be connected to either the same or a different optical network than the computer. The mixed media outlet includes a housing adapted to be wall mounted and first and second ports that are disposed within openings defined by the housing, such as a data port and a voice port. The mixed media outlet also includes an electro-optic converter connected to the first port for converting between electrical and optical signals such that electrical signals presented at the first port are converted to corresponding optical signals for transmission to an optical network and optical signals delivered by an optical fiber are converted to electrical signals for transmission via the first port to a computer, for example. The mixed media outlet can also include a fiber port for optically interfacing the optical fiber and the electro-optic converter in order to permit optical communication therebetween. While the fiber port can be in the same plane as the data and voice ports, the fiber port can lie in a different plane in some embodiments. Further, the mixed media outlet can include a protective subhousing covering at least the electro-optic converter for protecting the electro-optic converter from electromagnetic interference.

    • The intrapericardial lead includes a lead body having a proximal portion and a flexible, pre-curved distal end portion. The distal end portion carries at least one electrode assembly containing an electrode adapted to engage pericardial tissue. The distal end portion further carries a pre-curved flexible wire member having ends attached to spaced apart points along the distal end portion of the lead body, the flexible wire member having a normally expanded state wherein an intermediate portion of the wire member is spaced apart from the distal end portion, and a generally straightened state wherein the wire member and the distal end portion are disposed in a more parallel, adjacent relationship so as to present a small frontal area to facilitate delivery into the pericardial space. The wire member re-expands to its normal state after delivery into the pericardial space to anchor the distal end portion of the lead body relative to the pericardial tissue.

Each dovetail joint includes a plurality of uniformly spaced wedge-shaped tenons projecting longitudinally from a first loop, a plurality of uniformly spaced wedge-shaped mortises longitudinally indented into a second loop, the wedge-shaped mortises being similarly shaped and sized in relation to the wedge-shaped tenons, the plurality of wedge-shaped tenons being fittingly received by the wedge-shaped mortises at all locations between the proximal and distal ends of the ring electrode.

    • An optical fiber splice housing is provided for connection to a distribution frame adjacent to the rear of an optical fiber raceway unit. The splice housing comprises a cabinet having a front end defining a cabinet height and a cabinet width and a rear end defining a rear facing opening. The front end of a cabinet is adapted for connection to a distribution frame adjacent the rear side of the raceway member, and the cabinet height is not greater than the raceway height while the cabinet width is not greater than the raceway width. The splice housing can therefore be connected to a distribution frame adjacent to the rear side of a raceway unit without using additional vertical space in the frame and access to a splice tray mounted on the splice tray shelf can be had through the rear facing opening of the cabinet.

    • A single-pass atrio-ventricular (A-V) pacing lead includes an elongated main lead body having an atrial electrode at the distal end thereof, and includes a ventricular branch which departs from the main lead body just proximal to the tip of the atrial electrode. The ventricular branch has a ventricular electrode at its distal tip. The main lead body includes a preformed "J"-shaped portion which, following proper implantation, projects the atrial electrode against a wall of the atrial appendage. The ventricular branch includes a preformed bend which curves in the opposite direction of the J-shaped portion so as to maintain the ventricular branch generally away from the wall of the atrial appendage. The lead includes a single lumen which extends through both the main lead body and the ventricular branch, allowing the lead to be implanted using a single stylet. When the styler is fully inserted within the lumen, an extension portion of the atrial electrode, including the electrode tip, rests alongside the straightened ventricular branch so as to present a low cross-sectional profile, facilitating transvenous implantation.
