    • This concerns a molded case circuit breaker having separable main contacts and an operating mechanism structured to cause the separable main contacts to open and close. A trip unit is provided to actuate the operating mechanism in desirable circumstances. The circuit breaker housing has an auxiliary device compartment therein into which may be inserted a key lock arrangement. The trip unit has a plunger member which protrudes into the auxiliary device compartment and which, when actuated, causes the trip unit to actuate the operating mechanism to open the main contacts. When the key lock is actuated, a slideable member interacts with the plunger member in the trip unit and maintains the trip unit in a configuration that prevents the main contacts from engaging. Thus, as long as the lock member is maintained in the locked state, the circuit breaker may not be reset.

    • A small drip irrigation emitter that is capable of providing a constant flow rate over a wide range of high fluid line pressures. The emitter includes a small relatively soft flat flexible membrane, one side of which is in contact with the fluid of a drip irrigation line, and the other side of which is pressed against a flat surface having a perpendicular opening in it. A groove is provided on the surface leading from its edge to the opening, and a small open rounded preferably slotted area is provided in the opening where it meets the groove. As pressure is provided in the conduit line, the membrane is pressed against the opening and groove, limiting the amount of fluid that may escape across the groove and through the opening. As pressure increases, the opening is closed by the membrane; however, even after the opening is closed, the slot between the opening and the groove allows fluid to continue to escape, thereby requiring an extremely high pressure to close both the opening and the slot to shut off the flow of fluid.

    • A scheme (systems and methods) for passively aligning one or more optical devices with a corresponding number of optical lenses in an accurate and efficient manner is described. By this approach, the invention avoids the often labor-intensive and costly steps required by conventional active alignment techniques that attempt to align the optical devices to the optical fibers. In one aspect, an optoelectronic device includes an optical device system, an optical lens system and a plurality of solder bumps disposed therebetween. The optical device system includes an optical device substrate supporting one or more optical devices and a solderable metallization pattern having a spatial arrangement with respect to the one or more optical devices. The optical lens system includes one or more optical lenses and a device bonding surface supporting a solderable metallization pattern having a spatial arrangement with respect to the one or more optical lenses. The solder bumps are disposed between the metallization patterns of the optical device system and the optical lens system. The plurality of solder bumps bond the optical device substrate to the device bonding surface with the one or more optical devices aligned with the one or more optical lenses. In another aspect, the optical lens system includes a spacer substrate defining one or more apertures therethrough. A method of aligning an optical device system and an optical lens system also is described.
