    • A disk drive includes a slider assembly and a controller that directs current to the slider assembly to dynamically adjust the head-to-disk spacing. In one embodiment, the slider assembly includes a write element having a first end, a second end and an intermediate section, a conductor that is connected to the intermediate section. In this embodiment, the controller directs electrical current through the conductor to heat the write element without writing data to a storage disk. The electrical current can be directed through the conductor at any time prior to data transfer or during data transfer. Heating the write element causes a deformation of the slider assembly to decrease the head-to-disk spacing. In another embodiment, the slider assembly includes a separate slider deformer. Electrical current is selectively directed to the slider deformer to cause a deformation of the slider assembly to obtain a desired head-to-disk spacing. The slider deformer can include electrically conductive material or can be a piezoelectric element. Further, the slider deformer can be serpentine-shaped or substantially planar in shape.

    • The present invention relates to a kitchen device, namely a cooking vessel to be used with a cooking utensil. The cooking vessel is adapted to hold the utensil by the stem in order to suspend the cooking implement of the utensil above the container of the cooking vessel. More particularly, the cooking vessel comprises a container having a bottom surface, and a handle extending from the container. The handle has an opening for receiving the stem of the utensil, the opening having a predetermined shape for cooperating with the stem to temporarily hold the stem so that the cooking implement of the utensil hangs above the bottom surface of the container. There is also provided a cooking assembly comprising the cooking vessel and the utensil. There is also provided a handle to be joined to a cooking vessel, as well as a utensil to be used with the cooking vessel.

    • In one embodiment, the present invention is a method and apparatus for efficient electronic document management. One embodiment of the inventive method involves generating one or more user-specific administrator setup files comprising a plurality of parameters pertaining to tasks and steps that users are authorized to perform on electronic documents, wherein some of the parameters are encoded using a private key so that only an authorized user having the corresponding private key can access the encoded parameters. These administrator setup files are retrieved by the corresponding users, who implement their respective administrator setup files to allow performance of at least some of the authorized tasks and steps on a selected electronic document or group of electronic documents. The inventive method substantially eliminates the potential for human error and security breaches in the performance of document management tasks.
