摘要： A windshield wiper blade capable of inexpensive manufacture and having good wipe quality comprises approximately 100 parts by weight of a vulcanizable elastomer including at least one silicone polymer, and about 75 to 220 parts by weight of a siliceous filler dispersed in the elastomer. The siliceous filler preferably includes a substantial portion of particles having a relatively large diameter in the range of 5 to 100 microns in order to lower the coefficient of friction of the wiper blade with respect to automotive windshield glass.

The gasket has a base for mounting to one confronting surface and a deforming section which protrudes outwardly for contacting the second surface. A wire extends through the base parallel to the axis of the gasket member. The deforming section includes a bottom wall, a vertical wall and a slanting wall which are integrally formed with the base and interconnected to define a right triangular exterior which produces improved sealing characteristics.

The elastomer is scored in the mid-section thereof to produce a score line and then cured. The scored and cured elastomer is then separated into two separate lengths of wiper blade by dividing the length of continuous elastomer along the score line.

摘要： A hand operated trimmer for trimming an edge of vinyl, carpet or the like being installed on a floor so that the cut edge of the floor covering will lie closely against an adjacent wall. The trimmer comprises an elongate base member and an integral cutting blade. The base member has a generally triangularly shaped cross section, with two of the elongate external surfaces of the base member meeting at a right angle, and the elongate external surface opposite the right angle being a concave surface. The cutting blade is mounted closely adjacent the concave surface and in a substantially perpendicular relationship thereto. Pressure applying rollers are spaced a slight distance from the concave surface so as to define a vinyl-receiving entry location for a vinyl sheet to pass in a longitudinal direction along the concave surface, with the pressure applying rollers serving to keep the vinyl sheet in close contact with the concave surface. The cutting blade is mounted in alignment with the path of travel of the vinyl along the concave surface, whereby upon an installer causing a vinyl sheet to enter the entry location, the external surfaces of the base member meeting at a right angle can be moved longitudinally along the floor-wall intersection. At that time the blade cuts the vinyl at a location coinciding with the intersection of the floor with the adjacent wall, such that the cut edge of the vinyl will reside closely and evenly along the wall.

摘要： A portable carpet stretching device [in accordance with this invention enables] enabling a user to stretch carpeting at an angle into engagement with a tack strip affixed along the base of an adjacent wall, thus to eliminate wrinkles. This device comprises a carpet-engaging head member and a relatively fixed base member. The front of the base member is attached by an extensible member to the rear of the head member, and pivotally connected anchoring means are utilized for securing the base member in a desired relationship to the adjacent wall. Power applying means enable the user to force the head member and the base member apart, so the anchoring of the base member with respect to the adjacent wall by the anchoring means results at the time of application of the power means, in the portion of the carpet engaged by the head member being forced toward the adjacent wall and into contact with the tack strip. The anchoring means forming the principal subject matter of this invention comprises a pulling plate having a lower edge adapted to engage the tack strip. The upper edge of the pulling plate is pivotally connected to the base member, with this pivotal connection enabling the head member as well as the frame of the device to be moved into a non-symmetrical relationship to the pulling plate, whereby a pull at an angle to the adjacent wall and the tack strip can be applied to the carpet when the power applying means is operated.
