摘要： A hybrid epoxy resin adduct comprising, consisting of, or consisting essentially of the reaction product of: (A) a material selected from the group consisting of a hybrid polyfunctional aliphatic epoxy resin, a hybrid cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, and combinations thereof; wherein (A) is formed by contacting: (a) a hydroxyl-containing material selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic hydroxyl-containing material, a cycloaliphatic hydroxyl-containing material, and combinations thereof; (b) a material selected from the group consisting of a monoglycidyl ether-containing material, a diglycidyl ether-containing material, and combinations thereof wherein (b) is prepared from a different precursor than (a); (c) an epihalohydrin; (d) a basic acting substance; (e) a non-Lewis acid catalyst; and (f) optionally, a solvent and (B) at least one epoxide reactive compound comprising one or more compounds having two or more epoxide-reactive hydrogen atoms per molecule, is disclosed.

摘要： This invention is a monomer comprising at least two dienophile groups and at least two ring structures which ring structures are characterized by the presence of two conjugated carbon-to-carbon double bonds and the presence of a leaving group L, wherein L is characterized that when the ring structure reacts with a dienophile in the presence of heat or other energy sources, L is removed to form an aromatic ring structure. This invention is also curable oligomers and polymers and highly cross-linked polymers made with such monomers. Moreover, this invention is a method of making porous films by combining such monomers or their oligomers with a porogen, curing the polymer and removing the porogen.

摘要： Adducts containing terminating nitro (nitroso) groups and one or more mesogenic moieties are prepared by reacting (A) at least one compound containing an average of more than one vicinal epoxide group per molecule with (B) at least one compound containing one or more nitro (nitroso) groups and an average of one reactive hydrogen atom per molecule; with the proviso that at least one member of components (A) and (B) contains a mesogenic moiety. Reduction of these adducts provides amines which are useful as curing agents for epoxy resins.

These curable compositions can be oriented by the application of an electric field or magnetic field or drawing and/or shear flow prior to and/or during curing. The resultant cured products exhibit an improvement in one or more physical and/or mechanical and/or thermal properties as compared to a like epoxy resin system which does not contain any rodlike mesogenic moieties.

These resins exhibit ordering of the molecular chains in the melt phase and are susceptible to orientation during processing which can result in enhanced unidirectional mechanical properties. These resins are useful in coatings, laminates, castings and the like.

These compounds are useful as curing agents for epoxy resins.
