    • A housing defines an internal cavity and an opening to the internal cavity. An end cap occludes the opening. Fiber optic cables extend through ports in the end cap. A support frame is connected to the end cap and is positioned in the internal cavity. The support frame includes a support member having opposite front and rear ends. The support frame includes upper and lower front extensions connected to the support member. The front extensions extend away from the support member and divergently with respect to one another. The front extensions are connected to the end cap. Flanges protruding from the front extensions receive strain relief for brackets. Container-like devices for containing optical fibers are carried by opposite sides of the support member. An elongate channel for receiving optical fibers and an elongate opening to the channel extend along the back side of a container-like device carried by the support member. A transition plate is mounted to the top of a container-like device carried by the support member. The transition plate includes protrusion that define aperture for receiving ties that hold optical fibers. An adjustment bracket is mounted in movable relation to the support member and is movable toward and away from a container-like device carried by the support member. The support frame further includes upper and lower rear extensions connected to and extending forwardly and divergently from the rear end of the support member.

    • A multi-port optical connection terminal for use as a branch point in a fiber optic communications network at a distance from a mid-span access location provided on a distribution cable having a plurality of optical fibers. The multi-port terminal includes a base and a cover affixed to the base. A stub cable port formed through one of the base and the cover receives a stub cable having at least one optical fiber extending continuously from the multi-port terminal to the mid-span access location. A first end of the optical fiber is optically connected to a respective optical fiber of the distribution cable at the mid-span access location and a fiber optic connector is mounted upon the second end. At least one connector port is provided on the multi-port terminal for receiving the fiber optic connector and a connectorized end of a fiber optic drop cable extending from the multi-port terminal.

    • A cable breakaway assembly is adapted for mounting within a stationary component of a communications service network to prevent damage to a feeder cable in the event that an excessive pulling force is applied to a customer cable spliced to the feeder cable. In one embodiment, the cable breakaway assembly comprises a generally symmetric base, at least one cutting blade fixed to the base, and a swing arm rotatably attached to the base and movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The communications cable is secured to the swing arm by a cable clamp and the swing arm is biased in the extended position by a torsion spring. When the excessive force is applied to the customer cable the swing arm rotates to the retracted position, thereby bringing the communications cable into contact with the cutting blade and severing the communications cable. In another embodiment, the base defines a cavity and the swing arm is replaced by a cable block resiliently positioned within the cavity. The cable block is biased in the extended position by at least one linear coil spring positioned within the fig cavity between the cable block and the base.

Coupler cassettes are carried by the frame in a coupler cassette subassembly. Each coupler cassette houses a plurality of couplers. The coupler cassettes are interconnected such that a single input optical fiber entering the coupler cassette subassembly results in multiple output optical fibers leaving the coupler cassette subassembly. A splice organizer comprising a plurality of splice holders is carried by the frame exterior and adjacent to the coupler cassette subassembly for retaining splices to and from the coupler cassettes. A housing encloses the frame, coupler cassette subassembly and splice organizer. An optical fiber storage tray is located adjacent the splice organizer for storing any excess express or drop cable optical fibers that are not spliced to any of the output optical fibers of the coupler cassette subassembly.

The coupler module splits an optical signal carried on the optical fiber of the feeder cable into optical signals carried on the optical fibers of the distribution cable.
