    • A system and method for implementing call handover (HO) is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) is configured to communicate with a wireless communication network. The UE is configured to transmit a measurement report to at least one of a serving cell and at least one cell of a coordinated multi-point (CoMP) cell set. The UE is also configured to listen for control channel transmissions from at least one of the serving cell and a first cell in the CoMP cell set, receive a resource allocation from at least one of the serving cell and the first cell in the CoMP cell set, and receive an HO command jointly from the serving cell and the first cell in the CoMP cell set. The HO command identifies a target cell. The UE is also configured to perform handover to the target cell identified in the HO command.

    • A method for transmitting a control signal from a user equipment and a user equipment (UE), the UE comprising: a processor configured to control a receiver in the UE to have a periodic On- Duration, the On-Duration associated with a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation mode of the UE; the processor further configured to receive a rank indicator (RI) resource configuration, the configuration indicating a periodic RI reporting resource; the processor further configured to determine that data was not received properly; the processor further configured to determine a time period for one or more potential retransmissions of the data that was not received properly, the time period occurring after the start of one of the On-Durations of the DRX operation mode of the UE; the processor further configured to transmit RI using corresponding RI reporting resources from at least a start of the time period for potential retransmissions until an end of the time period for potential retransmissions.
