    • A system and method for managing content between different client devices in various domains (such as vehicle, home, and person). The system and method includes a user interface, a wireless transceiver, and a controller. The user interface is used to receive an input form a user to change the presentation of the content from a first client device to a second client device. The wireless transceiver is capable of wirelessly transmitting the input from the user through the communication system. The controller is responsive to the input from the user and used to determine a content format for the second device. The controller may also be used for determining whether the second device has a network capability for accessing the content format. Depending on the determinations made by the controller, the controller will transmit a data message to the second device to activate access to the content if the second device has the network capability for accessing the content format. On the other hand, the controller will obtain the content and transmit the obtained content to the second device if the second device does not have the network capability for accessing the content format.

    • A system and method for managing content between different client devices in various domains (such as vehicle, home, and person). The system and method includes a content playback control device that is capable of managing content for a client device. The content playback control device may include an input, a memory, a controller, and an output. The input may be used for receiving an instruction from a user to subsequently playback content on the client device. The instruction includes a selection of a first format and a second format for a particular event or program. The memory may be used for storing the content in the first format and the second format. The controller is used for synchronizing the content in the first format with the content in the second format to produce a stream of the content in a combined format. The output may then be used for transmitting the combined format to the client device.

The program (18) also updates the operator preferred route by monitoring the position data.

    • Media devices are connected to a network. Restrictive rights restrict how the media device can process restricted media content on the network. Information indicative of the restrictive rights associated with the network is stored on the network. A request is received to deliver restricted media content to a requested device, which lacks the right to process it. The stored information is used to determine which media device has the restrictive right to process the requested content, and an instruction is sent to that device. The processed content is then delivered from the determined device to the requesting device. A centralized embodiment of the network has a server connected to the media devices. Another embodiment of the network enables the media devices to obtain restricted media content suitable for the restrictive rights of the network from content providers.
