    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a predictive capturing and tracking device and a predictive capturing and tracking method for beacon light, capable of shortening a communication recovery time by instantaneously capturing the beacon light in the case that the beacon light is shielded and a direction toward which laser light should be emitted is missed.SOLUTION: A predictive capturing and tracking device for beacon light in a laser communication system for a railway, is provided with: a mirror controller 27; a mirror 29 whose direction is controlled by the mirror controller 27; a base station performing data transmission/reception by laser light via the mirror 29; and an on-vehicle station having the same configuration as the base station. When beacon light for data communication emitted from the base station or the on-vehicle station is shielded, and a direction toward which laser light should be emitted is missed, in the case of capturing the on-vehicle station at the base station, or in the case of capturing the base station at the on-vehicle station, a position of the beacon light is predicted, and the mirror 29 is directed toward a direction corresponding to the predicted position of the beacon light. Thereby, control of the direction of the mirror 29 is performed in a short time, which allows high-speed capturing and tracking.
