    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal sound detection method and device capable of detecting which of rotation axles is damaged, that are included in a rotation axle group having at least a plurality of rotation axles moving along a moving route.SOLUTION: A plurality of measuring units having respectively a pair of passage detection device (K1-n) for detecting passage of each rotation axle (3a, 3b) and generating a passage signal and a sound collection device (M1-n) for collecting sound generated from the rotation axles (3a, 3b) and generating sound collection data are arranged at a prescribed interval along the moving route. Sound collection data of a prescribed time portion corresponding to a passage signal for specifying one of the rotation axles (3a, 3b) are cut out from sound collection data collected from each of the measuring units, and put together, to thereby generate synthesized sound collection data. A frequency distribution of the synthesized sound collection data is analyzed, and abnormal sound from a specific rotation axle is separated and detected.
