摘要： A system and method for individually updating a location-based geometric boundary of a subscriber vehicle that is one of many subscriber vehicles are disclosed herein. The method includes obtaining a garage address of the subscriber vehicle, and determining a location-based geometric boundary of the subscriber vehicle from at least the garage address. The method further includes monitoring at least one of a service event including at least a vehicle registration event, a driving distance, or a driving speed to determine a driving pattern of the subscriber vehicle. The location-based geometric boundary of the subscriber vehicle is dynamically updated based at least on the driving pattern of the subscriber vehicle.

摘要： An aftermarket telematics unit (“ATU”) for use with a telematics service system having a call center is disclosed herein. The ATU is adapted for mounting to a vehicle and is configured for operation in an on-mode, a standby-mode, and an off-mode. The aftermarket telematics unit includes, but is not limited to, a memory unit and a processor that is operatively connected to the memory unit. The processor is configured to send a first notification to the call center when a number of transitions from the off-mode to the on-mode experienced by the ATU exceeds a predetermined number during a first predetermined length of time. The processor is further configured to send a second notification to the call center when the ATU has been continuously operating in the on-mode for greater than a second predetermined length of time.

The aftermarket telematics system includes, but is not limited to, an aftermarket telematics unit that is configured to be mounted to the vehicle, to communicate with the vehicle bus, and to detect when the vehicle has been turned off. The aftermarket telematics system also includes a vehicle communication interface device configured to connect to the vehicle bus, to be communicatively coupled with the aftermarket telematics unit, and to facilitate communication between the aftermarket telematics unit and the vehicle bus. The aftermarket telematics unit is further configured to send a sleep command to the vehicle communication interface device when the aftermarket telematics unit detects that the vehicle has been turned off. The vehicle communication interface device is configured to sleep in accordance with the sleep command.
