    • A combined liquid stirrer and gas injector comprises a suction turbine (5) supplied with gas by a cylinder (6) enclosing the stirrer drive shaft (2). A liquid stirring and gas injection device comprises a vertical drive shaft (2) equipped with an axial flow rotor (4) at its end and fitted with a suction turbine (5). The shaft (2) is enclosed by a cylinder (6), the lower end of which terminates in the turbine and the upper end of which is sealed to the drive and has an opening (14) for gas injection into the annular gap (15) between the shaft and the cylinder. Preferred Features: The turbine (5) consists of a radial vane assembly fixed between two disks (8, 9), the upper disk (8) having a central hole for passage of the lower end of the cylinder (6) which forms, with the hole edge, an annular gap for liquid intake into the turbine. The gas/liquid dispersion, delivered radially from the turbine, is directed towards the axial flow rotor (4) by an annular deflector (16) surrounding the turbine and having a central bottom opening (18), vertical counter-vanes (19) attached radially to the deflector, and optionally an additional stirring rotor. The counter-vanes extend vertically from the liquid (L) surface level over a total height (H) of about 0.7-12 times the turbine diameter (d). The axial flow rotor is a propeller screw (4) and the counter-vanes (19) have radial recesses to allow passage of the screw vanes (4a).
