摘要： Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Kraftstoffeinspritzsystems (1) zur Versorgung eines Verbrennungsmotors eines Fahrzeugs mit Kraftstoff, bei dem der Kraftstoff mit Hilfe einer Hochdruckpumpe (2) auf Hochdruck gefördert, einem Hochdruckspeicher (3) zugeführt und mit Hilfe mindestens eines an den Hochdruckspeicher (3) angeschlossenen Injektors (4) in einen Zylinder des Verbrennungsmotors eingespritzt wird. Erfindungsgemäß werden zur Erkennung eines Triebwerkschadens der Hochdruckpumpe (3) a) der Druck (P) im Hochdruckspeicher (3) gemessen und auf der Grundlage der Messwerte ein durch eine Einspritzung in einen Zylinder verursachter Druckabfall (ΔP) im Hochdruckspeicher (3) ermittelt, b) ein maximaler Druckgradient während einer auf die Einspritzung folgenden Druckaufbauphase ermittelt, c) der ermittelte Druckabfall (ΔP) und der ermittelte maximale Druckgradient ins Verhältnis gesetzt. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein elektronisches Steuergerät zur Ausführung des Verfahrens.
