    • The method for raising the pH of acidic bodies of water having a pH value of less than 4.5 by introducing neutralizing agent, comprises introducing a first neutralizing agent having a final conductivity of less than 100 mu S/cm at pH value of below 4.5 and then a second neutralizing agent having a final conductivity of more than 100 after attaining a pH value of 4.5, into the body of water. The final conductivity of the neutralizing agents is defined as the conductivity of an aqueous suspension or solution of neutralizing agent in solution equilibrium at 25[deg] C. The method for raising the pH of acidic bodies of water having a pH value of less than 4.5 by introducing neutralizing agent, comprises introducing a first neutralizing agent having a final conductivity of less than 100 mu S/cm at pH value of below 4.5 and then a second neutralizing agent having a final conductivity of more than 100 after attaining a pH value of 4.5, into the body of water. The final conductivity of the neutralizing agents is defined as the conductivity of an aqueous suspension or solution of neutralizing agent in solution equilibrium at 25[deg] C having a neutralizing agent content of 0.015 wt.%. The pH-value of the water body with a water volume of more than 500000 m 3>is raised to a value of 6. The neutralizing agent at the pH-value of below 4.5 is contained in the form of suspension with a concentration of 2-15 wt.%, and the neutralizing agent at the pH-value of 4.5 is contained in the form of suspension with a concentration of 0.05-2 wt.%. The method is carried out as in-lake process. Lime sturdy materials are used as the neutralizing agent with the final conductivity of over 100 mu S/cm. At pH-value of the water body of below 4.5, the neutralizing agent is used with a solution affinity measured as sulfuric acid consumption in a pH-value of stationary titration of 0.5 g of neutralizing agent in 100 ml of deionized water at 20[deg] C by 0.5 mol/l of sulfuric acid at a pH-value of 6 and a duration of 30 minutes of less than 2 ml. At pH-value of the water body of 4.5, the neutralizing agent is used with a solution affinity measured as sulfuric acid consumption in a pH-value of stationary titration of 0.5 g of neutralizing agent in 100 ml of deionized water at 20[deg] C by 0.5 mol/l of sulfuric acid at a pH-value of 6 and a duration of 30 minutes of more than 10 ml. At pH-value of the water body of less than 4.5, the lime sturdy materials are used with a particle size distribution of D50 of more than 11. At pH-value of the water body of 4.5, the lime sturdy materials are used with a particle size distribution of D50 of less than 3 mu m.
