Advantageously, the resilient link between the plate and the chamber makes the unit of particularly simple realisation. Thanks to the device of the invention, heated beverages can be obtained in considerably quick times. The invention also relates to a method for heating and/or frothing beverages, as well as to an espresso coffee machine including the device.

The device (12) comprises a shell (27) opaque to the ambient light and shaped so as to engage the board (23) and protect the optical sensor (21) from the ambient light.
