摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for calibrating and controlling activation of an analog interferometric modulator.SOLUTION: A device for modulating light comprises: a first layer; a second layer, where a gap is present between the first and second layers and the first and second layers are stationary relative to each other; a third layer disposed in the gap between the first and second layers; a control circuit configured to selectively induce an electric field between the first and second layers by applying a bias voltage across the first and second layers; and a charge pump configured to apply a fixed charge to the third layer. The third layer is electrically isolated after the fixed charge is applied. The control circuit is configured to cause the third layer to move within the gap by changing the bias voltage.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive an electric machine device such as an interference modulator.SOLUTION: A method includes a step for applying a voltage along a common line to release an electric machine device along the common line and a step for applying an address voltage along the common line to drive a selected electric machine device along the common line on the basis of a voltage applied along a segment line continuously to the former step. A holding voltage along the common line can be applied between the application of the release voltage and the application of the address voltage, and a segment voltage can be selected as a sufficiently small voltage so that the segment voltage does not exert influence on a state of an electric machine device along another common line which is not written.

In one aspect, a device includes an array having at least a first display element and a second display element, at least one switch configured to control a flow of charge between a source and the first display element, and at least one interferometric optical mask structure disposed in a non-active area of the array between the first display element and the second display element. The optical mask structure includes a storage capacitor formed by a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer. The storage capacitor is electrically coupled to the at least one switch and the first display element.
