摘要： A tunable delay line is calibrated to maintain the delay of the delay line at a desired value or within a desired range of values. In some aspects a signal is passed through a delay line multiple times so that the cumulative delay of the signal through the delay line (e.g., as indicated by a count) may be calculated over a period of time. The count is compared with an expected count and, based on this comparison, the delay of the delay line is adjusted as necessary. In some aspects the signal may comprise a digital signal. In some aspects a delay through a delay line may be calculated based on analysis of amplitude changes in a signal caused by a phase shift imparted on the signal by the delay line. In some aspects a delay line is incorporated into a transmitted reference system to generate and/or process transmitted reference signals.

摘要： Low power wireless communication techniques may be employed in devices that communicate via a wireless body area network, a wireless personal area network, or some other type of wireless communication link. In some implementations the devices may communicate via one or more impulse-based ultra-wideband channels. Inter-pulse duty cycling may be employed to reduce the power consumption of a device. Power may be provided for the transmissions and receptions of pulses by charging and discharging a capacitive element according to the inter-pulse duty cycling. Sub-packet data may be transmitted and received via a common frequency band. A cell phone may multicast to two or more peripherals via wireless communication links.

摘要： Processing may be performed by a first device (104) on behalf of a second device (102) to offload processing from the second device. In some aspects a device from which processing has been offloaded may be advantageously adapted to consume less power, have a smaller size, and have less complexity. 摘要： In general, techniques are described for encoding parameters with unit sum. In one example, an apparatus comprising a control unit implements these parameter encoding techniques. The control unit determines parameters that sum to a constant or unit sum. The control unit includes a parameter coding unit that segments a space that contains the plurality of parameters into a set of portions. The parameter coding unit assigns a different one of a plurality of codewords to each of the portions, selects one of the set of portions that contains a point defined by the plurality of parameters, and codes the plurality of parameters using one of the plurality of codewords assigned to the selected one of the plurality of portions. Rather than code only a subset of these parameters, the parameter coding unit codes all of the parameters with the result of potentially reducing quantization error.

摘要： For position determination with peer-to-peer communication, a target terminal (120a) broadcasts a request for assistance in determining its position (1). At least one ranging terminal (120b, 120c, 12On) receives the request. Each ranging terminal (120b, 120c, 12On) sends a response with a time of arrival (TOA) measurement for the request and the position of the ranging terminal (3). For two-way peer-to-peer, the target terminal receives at least one response from the at least one ranging terminal, obtains a TOA measurement for each response, estimates the distance to each ranging terminal based on the TOA measurement for the request and/or the TOA measurement for the response, and computes a position estimate for itself based on the estimated distance and the position for each ranging terminal (4). For one-way peer-to-peer, a network entity receives at least one response from the at least one ranging terminal, computes a position estimate for the target terminal, and sends the position estimate to the target terminal.
