    • Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate improved management of a system information modification in a wireless communication environment. Various techniques can be utilized as described herein to provide respective users with information indicative of changes to specific blocks or elements within a set of system information, thereby simplifying and accelerating acquisition of new system information after a modification. In a first example, a bitmap is generated and transmitted upon a system information modification that indicates which blocks(s) and/or element(s) of the system information changed in the modification, thereby allowing an associated user to abstain from reading or processing unchanged system information. In a second example, respective block(s) and/or element(s) of the system information can include an internal value tag that indicates to a receiving entity whether the corresponding block(s) or element(s) have changed, thereby allowing a user to discard unchanged block(s) or element(s) without performing further processing.

    • Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate cell barring based on erroneous messages received within a wireless communication system. As described herein, in the event that a device fails to receive and/or decode respective messages transmitted from a network cell over a common communication channel, the device can implement one or more error handling procedures as described herein to reselect away from the network cell and/or a frequency associated with the network cell (e.g., as if the network cell was explicitly barred). Cell barring can be triggered as described herein based on a count of erroneous messages (e.g., consecutive messages, messages received within a predetermined time window, etc.), elapsed time between erroneous messages, or the like. Further, cell barring can be performed as described herein based on failure to acquire pre-scheduled system information, common system information determined to have invalid abstract syntax, or the like.

    • Methods and devices are provided for observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) continuity at handover. In one embodiment, the method may involve, in response to being served by a first serving cell, receiving a first set of timing offsets provided in assistance data from the network. The method may involve, in response to being handed over to a second serving cell, deriving a second set of timing offsets from the first set of timing offsets. The method may involve adjusting measured time difference of arrival (TDOA) values of detected first signals according to the first set of timing offsets, and/or adjusting measured TDOA values of detected second signals according to the second set of timing offsets.

    • Providing for inter-frequency timing provision in wireless communication is disclosed herein. By way of example, cells of a wireless network can be configured to acquire information pertaining to subframe timing configurations employed by nearby wireless cells, including cells that employ a different frequency as an acquiring cell. The subframe timing configuration can be forwarded to access terminals served by the acquiring cell, to facilitate proper reception of neighboring signals, including on the different frequency. Various formats are disclosed herein for conveying subframe timing configurations, including a single bit format and multiple bit formats, which can specify various ranges of timing information in relation to a known timing, or can specify a complete subframe timing configuration for one or more such cells.

    • Facilitating feedback to a third generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) or subsequent network is described herein. By way of example one or more blocks of downlink transmission resources (e.g., downlink channel) can be correlated to one or more blocks of uplink transmission resources (e.g., uplink channel) during scheduling of a transmission allocation period. For instance, the correlation can identify to terminal devices a particular uplink channel that can be used to transmit, among other things, a negative acknowledgement (NACK) related to a particular downlink channel. Additionally, multiple uplink resources can be employed to facilitate a quantitative and/or qualitative determination of severity of data loss. Furthermore, a limiting factor can reduce a number of terminal devices responding to lost data simultaneously, reducing feedback interference. As described, the subject innovation can provide for dynamic and/or static feedback in LTE networks to ensure robust service transmissions for such networks.
