    • An information handling system router integrates wireless local area networking components and wireless cellular wide area network components to route information between a wireless cellular wide area network and plural information handling systems interfaced with a wireless local area network supported by the wireless local area network components. The wireless cellular wide area network components may include a detachable wireless cellular transceiver to support wireless network interfaces when detached from the router, such as wireless cellular for voice telephone communication or a wireless card for single information handling system communication with the wireless cellular network. Alternatively, the wireless cellular wide area network components may integrate a transceiver that is authorized to communicate with the wireless cellular wide area network by a detachable authorization module, such as a SIM module of a wireless cellular.

    • This disclosure relates to a system and method for providing a mechanism control page requests sent in a wireless communication network. The paging control mechanism can be implemented in a gateway through a combination of hardware and software to determine whether packets received at a gateway trigger a page. The packets received at the gateway are intended for user equipment that is indicated to be in an idle state with no bearer connection. The paging mechanism controls paging when paging requests need to be sent. In some communication networks, page requests can be sent that are not needed because a bearer connection or link is in the process of being established. The control can be asserted by adding intelligence to the gateway to determine—on receipt of downlink data or signaling—how to proceed based on the state of the user equipment and the bearer connection.

    • A method to deploy wireless network security with a wireless router is disclosed. In one aspect, the present disclosure teaches a method for activating a wireless network security with a wireless host including establishing a communication connection with a client. The method further includes, in response to the communication connection, automatically requesting from the client a determination of whether to activate the wireless network security. The method further includes, upon receipt of the determination to activate the wireless security network, automatically requesting an identifier code from the client. The method further includes activating the wireless security network to secure the wireless host if the identifier code matches a unique key-code that is physically located on the wireless host.

    • A modular distributed I/O system includes a computer coupled to module banks through a network bus. A module bank includes a communication module, terminal bases, and I/O modules. The adjoined terminal bases form a local bus mastered by the communication module. The I/O modules connect to the local bus through terminal bases. I/O modules are pluriform and programmable. The communication module maintains a memory image of the configuration state of each I/O module resident in the module bank. A memory image persists when an I/O module is removed from its terminal base. The memory image is used to configure a new I/O module which is inserted into the same terminal base. The communication module monitors for communication failure on the network bus, and is configured to capture the state of the module bank and automatically restore this captured state after a power-loss event. The terminal bases realize a local bus which includes a parallel bus, a serial bus, and an address assignment bus. Each terminal base receives a value from a preceding terminal base, increments this value, and asserts the increment value to a succeeding terminal base. Each terminal base is automatically assigned an physical proximity address. An I/O module controls read/write access to its register space by a semaphore mechanism which supports multi-threaded processing. The I/O module latches an ungranted semaphore request and assumes a self-exclusion state upon releasing the semaphore wherein the semaphore is reserved for the communication module.
