摘要： Methods and apparatus for supporting emergency communications are provided. A method for a Radio Access Network (RAN) serving at least one Core Network (CN) to support emergency communications of a User Equipment (UE) includes determining whether at least one CN in a shared network environment supports emergency communications, if it is determined that the at least one CN in the shared network environment supports emergency communications, transmitting an emergency call support indication to the UE indicating that emergency communications are supported, receiving a request for emergency communications from the UE, and routing the request for emergency communications to another CN that supports emergency communications in the shared network environment, if a given CN does not support emergency communications.

摘要： A method and system for obtaining position information of a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication environment is provided. The system includes a UE, a radio network wirelessly coupled to the UE, and a core network wirelessly coupled to the radio network and having a positioning server and a core network element. The UE generates a request to initiate a positioning session including a temporary session identifier from the UE. The core network element allocates a permanent session identifier for the positioning session upon receiving the request with the temporary session identifier and communicates the permanent session identifier and the temporary session identifier to the UE. Moreover, the positioning server receives transaction data from the UE during the positioning session associated with the permanent session identifier and estimates a geographic location and velocity information associated with the UE based on the received transaction data.

摘要： A method and system for requesting resources to send data packets in a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes calculating a size of a Robust Header Compression (ROHC) feedback packet associated with data packets available for transmitting, creating a Buffer Status Report (BSR) based on the number of data packets available for transmitting and the size of the ROHC feedback packet, sending the BSR to a first network element to allocate resources for the UE for sending the data packets available for transmitting along with ROHC feedback packet and identifying a size of a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) status report when a handover procedure is performed. The BSR is estimated based on the size of the PDCP status report, the number of data packets available for transmitting and the size of the ROHC feedback packet.
