摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the number of retransmission requests of a compress media transferring system implemented in a network where packet loss may occur.SOLUTION: An extended header for each transmitted packet can indicate a priority of the packet and a plurality of endpoints can determine if a re-transmission of a missing packet is requested. Buffering of a plurality of packets at different hops in a multi-hop system allows the retransmission request to be met by a more recent hop than the original system transmitting a video packet. Three levels of priority are established to achieve a reliable frame rate of 30 frames per second by compressing the first and second levels at 7.5 frames per second and a third level at 15 frames per second.

In some embodiments, when a requiring MRE requests an intraframe for a video stream received from a presenting MRE, an MRM responds to the request by requesting the presenting MRE to send a temporary video stream to the requiring MRE while sending in parallel a normal stream to the rest of the MREs.
