A protective cover (43) encompassing the sanding body is capable of being fastened on the gearbox casing (14) such that its rotation can be adjusted, and the rotational position of which is lockable using a notch lever (30). The device is made safer to operate and more cost effective to manufacture by the fact that the notch lever (30) is positioned transversely to the longitudinal axis of the angle grinder (10) and is pivotable around an axis (34) positioned substantially parallel to the housing (12).
