    • A rose locking mechanism developed with a hybrid lock architecture for a door designed to incorporate the functionality of a cylindrical lock architecture with the ease of installation of a tubular lock architecture is provided by the present invention. The hybrid lock architecture comprises a chassis assembly having an inside chassis assembly and an outside chassis assembly that are telescopically engaged to accommodate different door widths. A door latch assembly is operably connected to the chassis assembly for retroaction and extension of a bolt. A handle is mounted on a spindle on either side of the chassis assembly wherein rotational motion imparted on one of the handles is converted to linear motion within the chassis assembly in order to retract the bolt of the door latch assembly. The inside chassis assembly includes a rose locking mechanism positioned radially outward of said inside spindle.

    • A slide compartment for a hybrid lock architecture. The slide component comprises a U-shaped body portion and a plurality of independent retractors. At least one pair of slots are positioned near an open end of said U-shaped body for attachment of a drawbar of a door latch assembly of the hybrid lock assembly. The hybrid lock assembly comprises a chassis assembly mounted in a bore of said door. A door latch assembly is operably connected to the slide component housed in the chassis assembly for retraction and extension of a bolt. A handle is mounted on a spindle on each side of the chassis assembly. Rotational motion of either handle is converted to linear motion within the chassis assembly at the slide interface in order to retract the bolt of the door latch assembly.

    • In order to make use of disused chimneys within residences, a passive heat recovery and ventilation system is fitted within a chimney of a house, the system including inlet and outlet flow ducts fitted within the chimney flue, and extending to the chimney top, and a passive heat recovery device (2) located at the chimney top including a heat exchanger part (6) located in the chimney flue and having air inlet and air outlet ports (24, 26) communicating with the flow ducts, and including an air flow part (4) positioned on top of the chimney which replaces the chimney pot, and which exhausts stale air and draws in ambient air. The air flow part includes a turbine ventilator (18) for drawing out stale air, and a circular array of louvred air inlets (11, 12) for permitting inflow of fresh air.
