    • A system and a method manage construction project bids and/or unit pricing data. An online system manages bids for components of a construction project and allows a user to search aggregated unit pricing data. The user may be a bidder or a solicitor and may search construction cost information to obtain product and job-specific pricing. The user may select a construction division and/or a product to research, and the system provides up-to-date cost information. The system conducts a search that may be customized by a location, a construction category and/or a jobsite type. The user may input a user name and a password to access a personal organization tool that manages aspects of a project and provides current information on an active project.

    • Disclosed are a method and apparatus for laying down, abandoning and/or recovering a pipe on the sea floor. During lay-down and abandonment, the pipe is lowered by a high capacity winch to an intermediate depth, at which the loading exerted by the pipe has dropped to within the rated capacity of a low capacity winch, to which the loading is then transferred. The high capacity winch line is then recovered to the attendant vessel and the pipe lowered to the sea floor using the low capacity winch. Pipe recovery is essentially a reversal of the above procedure. In this way, the length of the line of the high capacity winch is considerably reduced, which reduces the winch size and hence cost.

    • The invention includes an ear or nose plug and a method of forming such an ear or nose plugs. The method may include providing silicone rubber base and catalyst materials and mixing about equal parts of the silicone rubber base and catalyst materials to form a homogeneous putty. The method may further include forming a bullet shaped and sized module of the homogeneous putty. The method may further include inserting the module within an ear or nose cavity using enough gentle pressure to allow the module to conform to the ear or nose cavity and leaving enough of the module outside of the cavity to grasp for removal. The method may further include waiting a predetermined amount of time to cure and removing a custom shaped ear or nose plug. Embodiments of an ear or nose plug formed by the above method are also disclosed. The ear or nose plugs are formed in situ and quickly cure according to the methods of the present invention.
