    • To substantially increase the periods of time between the changing of rolling segments and to reduce the amount of work connected therewith in a roll stand for a planetary rolling mill, chocks in which stationary support bodies having rolling segments are mounted are provided with a square or octagonal disk shape, and each support body, instead of having one rolling segment as known heretofore, is provided with four or eight rolling segments distributed uniformly on its periphery. A turnable rolling ring is, further, provided at each end of each support body.

    • A device for facilitating the grinding of the working rolls of a planetary rolling mill in which working rolls are mounted together with intermediate rolls in cages which rotate about a support body, a rolling mill having an upper planet roll and a lower planet roll. In order to provide a low cost and economically operating roll grinding device, allowing simple, fast and precise grinding of the working rolls with reduced mill down time, a planet roll (1) is associated with a manipulating device (2) which is moveable in at least three planes or axes of movement and with which the working rolls (3) can be removed individually from the planet roll (1) and fed to a grinding device (5) as well as returned into the planet roll (1).

    • The present invention relates to a roll stand for a planetary rolling mill having roll housings, stationary support bodies which are mounted on insert pieces, which have at least one rolling segment inserted therein, with hardened segment inserts, and intermediate and work rolls mounted in cages and rotating around the support bodies. Upon their rotation around the support bodies, these rolls are brought against the intermediate rolls and the latter are brought against the support bodies. The rolling surface of the rolling segments is formed by the segment inserts which have a flattened cross-sectional shape, in the region of the shaping zone, differing from the circular cross sectional shape of the support bodies having a rolling surface which can vary in position with respect to the support body by displacement of the segment inserts, individually or in groups, in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the support body.

    • A roll stand for a planetary rolling mill having a housing, and two stationary support members mounted in chocks, with rolling segments and intermediate and work rolls mounted in rotationally driven cages. The support members have a plurality of rolling segments, spaced about an outer surface thereof. By the turning of the support members, the rolling segments can be brought, in each case, into working position. In order to be able to effect a change of the rolling segments while using the favorable torque division of the drive system for the roll cages, the support members (1) are rotatably mounted in their chocks (15) adapted to be clamped (20) in the working position of the rolling segments (16). A drive is selectably engaged to rotate the support member into a new working position.

    • A roll stand for a planetary rolling mill includes two stationary opposed support bodies having an axis and forming a shaping zone there between; a plurality of intermediate rolls and a plurality of working rolls mounted for rotation around the support bodies and a rotatable member within at least one of these support bodies. The rotatable member has an axis of rotation parallel to the axis of the support body and is formed by a plurality of rolling segments each extending in a plane and having a curved geometry. Each rolling segment is made up of a plurality of spaced rolling surfaces extending in a direction of rolling for supporting the intermediate rolls within the shaping zone. The rotatable member is releasable mounted in three different planes within the support body.
