    • An impact absorbing construction for a motor vehicle comprises an impact damping cylinder. One end of said impact damping cylinder is adapted for being fastened to a vehicle structure. The other end of the impact damping cylinder is connectable with a bumper. The bumper is adjustable with respect to the impact damping cylinder. In order to allow both a horizontal and a vertical adjustment, a sleeve is provided having a sleeve axis which is perpendicular to the cylinder axis. A core is received by the sleeve. The core is adjustable along the sleeve axis by screwing. The bumper is fixable to the core. A sleeve support is fastened to the sleeve. The sleeve support is connectable with the other end of the damping cylinder and is adjustable with respect to the damping cylinder along the cylinder axis.

    • A U-type bellows air spring is supported on one side relative to the vehicle frame and on the other side relative to the axle or a longitudinal control arm guiding the latter. The lower end of the U-type bellows is fastened on the longitudinal control arm side in a pressure-tight manner to a flange of a supporting element, and a vibration absorber protrudes through the supporting element. A piston cylinder of the vibration absorber is connected to the longitudinal control arm via a joint, and a piston rod on the longitudinal axis of the air spring is supported relative to the vehicle frame. To keep the amount of sealing for the air spring small even if it is not used very much, the supporting element for the lower end of the U-type bellows is arranged rigidly with respect to the piston cylinder of the vibration absorber. A preferably cylindrical circumferential surface for the U-type bellows to roll along during the compression and rebound action extends from the flange toward the longitudinal control arm.

    • A device for use with sewing machines for transport of work pieces. The transport device removes finished workpieces from a sewing area and feeds the workpieces to a transfer point at which the end section of the work piece is held with little force to allow the workpiece to be gripped by a stacking element. The arrangement allows for the next workpiece to be inserted into the sewing area simultaneous with the removal of the finished workpiece. The transport device includes a swivelable arm carrying a driven conveyor belt. The arm may be swivelled upward once the front section of the work piece has been moved underneath the swivelling axis of the arm, so that a new workpiece can be inserted. The conveyor belt can be arrested before the end section of the workpiece passes through. The conveyor belt contact pressure can be reduced such that the work piece can be pulled out easily by a stacker.

    • The invention relates to a magnetic patterning system on a knitting machine, which has knitting tools which are selectable independently of one another. The patterning system comprises ferromagnetic control elements associated with the knitting tools, an electromagnetic control pole which can be excited according to a pattern, and at least one permanent holding pole, the selection of the knitting tools being performed by relative motion between the control elements and the control pole and the holding pole during which motion the control elements adhere or do not adhere to the holding pole depending on the state of excitation of the control pole. To prevent the control elements from having to be already swung or shifted in the area of the control pole, the control pole is designed as a pole for only addressing address sections of the control elements in order to magnetize them, according to the pattern, to remanent north poles or south poles, while the holding pole is designed as a sorting pole in order to attract or repel the address sections according to their remanent magnetization.
