    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the conventional electrically conductive diamond electrode obtained by coating the surface of an electrode base material with an electrically conductive diamond film, has insufficient adhesion between the base material and the electrically conductive diamond film, thereby causing peeling or the like to invite the shortening of its service life.
      SOLUTION: The electrically conductive diamond electrode includes: an electrode base material containing a material selected from valve metals and these metal-based alloys whose surface has been subjected to plastic working and also has been subjected to heating treatment in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere; and an electrically conductive diamond film formed on the plastic-worked face of the electrode base material. When the electrode base material is subjected to the plastic working and heating treatment, the peeling resistance of the electrically conductive diamond film is improved to elongate the service life of the electrode.
