摘要： A one piece cable tie for forming a plurality of objects such as cables into a bundle. The cable tie includes in one embodiment an elongated flexible strap having a top planar surface, a bottom planar surface, a first end and a second end. The strap further includes a plurality of raised cross-members spaced along its length, each cross-member being in the shape of a ratchet tooth. A locking head is integrally formed to the first end of the strap. The locking head has a top surface and a bottom surface and includes a strap accepting channel having an inner end wall and an outer end wall. The outer end wall is shaped to include an angled locking face for engaging with one of the raised cross-members. In use, after the second end of the strap has been inserted through the strap accepting channel and drawn tight around a bundle and the insertion force is thereafter relaxed, the stored pressure of the bundle by virtue of its configuration pivots the strap causing one of the raised cross-members to abut against the angled locking face to lock the strap in place.

摘要： An apparatus for dispensing plastic fasteners from fastener stock includes a gun shaped casing. A hollow needle having an inlet opening is mounted on the casing. A guide groove is formed on the casing for receiving the fastener stock, the guide groove being in communication with said inlet opening in said hollow needle. A feeder element for intermittently advancing fastener stock loaded into the guide groove is mounted on the casing. An ejector rod is provided for pushing plastic fasteners from the fastener stock through and out of the hollow needle one at a time. The ejector rod and feeder element are driven by a DC motor powered by a battery pack removably mounted in the casing and which contains rechargeable batteries. The battery pack includes a receptacle which is arranged to enable the batteries to be recharged with the battery pack in or out of the tool. A converter assembly is provided for converting rotary motion of the drive shaft of the motor into linear motion of the ejector rod, the converter assembly including a worm on the drive shaft, a worm gear driven by the worm, a spur gear loosely coupled to the worm gear, a slider for holding the ejector rod and a rack driven by the spur gear and mounted on the slider.

摘要： A one piece cable tie for forming a plurality of objects such as cables into a bundle includes an elongated flexible strap having a top planar surface, a bottom planar surface, a first end and a second end. The strap further includes a plurality of transverse raised cross-members projecting up from the top planar surface, said raised cross-members being spaced along the length of the strap and defining therebetween a plurality of openings. A locking head is integrally formed to the first end of the strap. The locking head includes an outer end wall, an inner end wall and a pair of sidewalls which together define a generally rectangularly shaped strap accepting channel therebetween. A holding tab is disposed within the locking head and projects out from the inner end wall and into the strap accepting channel. The outer end wall is shaped to include an angled locking face. In use, after the second end of the strap has been inserted through the strap accepting channel and drawn tight around a bundle and the insertion force is thereafter relaxed, the stored pressure of the bundle by virtue of its configuration pivots said strap causing the rear surface of one of the raised ratchet teeth to abut against the angled locking face to lock the strap in place. At the same time, the holding tab engages with one of the openings in the strap to oppose deliberate release of the raised ratchet tooth from the locking face.

摘要： A needle for use as part of a fastener dispensing tool adapted for dispensing plastic fasteners of the type typically used to attach tags to products for marking and identification. In one embodiment, the needle is made from a single sheet of metal by a stamping and/or rolling technique, and comprises an elongated, generally cylindrical, hollow, slotted member having a stem portion and a base portion. The stem portion terminates at its front end in a relatively sharp tip. The base portion, a portion of which is sized and shaped for insertion in an opening in the nose of the tool, includes a pair of upwardly extending, spring tabs bent outwardly away from each other. A first portion of one of the tabs is sized and shaped to releasably engage a recessed area formed in the nose of the tool to prevent unintended removal of the base portion from the opening and to limit rearward insertion of the base portion into the opening. A second portion of the same tab is sized and shaped to engage another wall of the nose to prevent upward movement of the base portion in the opening. The other tab, serves as a registration member to align the base portion in its desired longitudinal, vertical and angular orientations.
