    • The present invention is of an electrode and may include: a substrate layer; an electroactive insoluble pole material, which is disposed on the substrate layer; and a non-water absorbing binder material which facilitates binding of the electroactive insoluble pole material to the substrate layer. Further, the present invention is of an electrode and may include: a substrate layer; a electroactive insoluble pole material, which is disposed on the substrate layer; a non-water absorbing binder material which facilitates binding of the electroactive insoluble pole material to the substrate layer; and an aqueous conductive substance disposed on the electroactive insoluble pole material. In addition, the present invention is of a current generating treatment device comprising an electrode system comprising: at least one first main electrode; and at least one second counter electrode of opposite polarity from the at least one first main electrode, wherein at least one of the first and second electrodes comprises a water resistant electrode comprising an electrode substrate layer; an electroactive insoluble pole material, which is disposed on the substrate layer; a non-water absorbing binder material which facilitates binding of the electroactive insoluble pole material to the substrate layer and at least one electrochemical cell, coupled to the electrode system, wherein the electrochemical cell provides the power for the current generating treatment device. The present invention also provides a method of making such an electrode and current generating treatment devices and uses thereof.

    • The present invention is of an electrode comprising an electrode substrate, wherein the electrode substrate has an electrode side and a back side; a conductive material layer disposed on the back side of the electrode substrate; and an insoluble electroactive material disposed on the electrode side of the electrode substrate. The electrode substrate can be a conductive substrate or a non-conductive substrate. In an embodiment wherein the substrate is a non-conductive substrate, the electrode can include vias which extend from the electrode substrate backside to the electrode side of the substrate. In some embodiments, the electroactive material is zinc and the conductive material is silver. The present invention provides an electrode with improved current distribution and high capacity, which can provide higher current and/or higher voltage. In addition, the present invention provides a dermal patch, which includes a higher powered, high capacity electrode with uniform current distribution. Still further the present invention provides methods of making the electrode and of attaching the electrode to a power source.

    • Methods, apparatus, and kits for onychomycosis treatment are presented. In one embodiment, a kit for treatment includes an anti-fungal agent, in a composition, and an electrically powered patch. Exemplary embodiments of the patch include a first electrode, a power source having a first and second terminal, a second electrode coupled to the second terminal of the power source, and a base member supporting the first electrode, the second electrode, and the power source. Embodiments include those where the first and second electrode and power source are printed on the base member. Anti-fungal agents may be unionized while the composition includes an ionizing agent. Home use may be practiced, as embodiments include those in which the voltage or current of the power source cannot be adjusted by a user. Exemplary methods include the selection of a nail or diseased area to which treatment is desired and administering the kit as described.
