    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing molten irons and a method for manufacturing molten iron using the same. The method for manufacturing molten irons according to the present invention includes reducing first iron ores by charging the first iron ores into a fluidized-bed reduction reactor; manufacturing compacted irons by compacting the reduced first iron ores; reducing second iron ores together with the compacted irons by charging the second iron ores and the compacted irons into a packed-bed reduction reactor, a size of the second iron ores is greater than a size of the first iron ores; charging the reduced compacted irons and the second iron ores into a melter-gasifier connected to the packed-bed reduction reactor; preparing lumped carbonaceous materials as a heating source for melting the reduced compacted irons and the second iron ores; charging the lumped carbonaceous materials into the melter- gasifier and then forming a coal packed-bed; and injecting oxygen through a tuyere installed in the melter-gasifier and then manufacturing molten iron from the compacted irons and the second iron ores.

    • In an ironmaking system using non-coking coal and fine iron or directly in furnace operations without any additional treatment, a byproduct sludge recycling apparatus powders wet byproduct sludge which is by-produced in water treatment of discharge gas and then re-blows sludge powder into fluidized-bed reduction reactors so that byproduct sludge can be recycled. In the ironmaking system including the fluidized-bed reduction reactor (10, 20 and 30) and an HBI making apparatus (50), the byproduct sludge recycling apparatus (1) comprises: a sludge powder preparing unit (120) for preparing sludge powder by dewatering, drying and crushing byproduct sludge discharged from a water treatment unit (70) for treating process water from scrubbers (60) connected to discharge gas ducts (14); a storage unit (160, 160a) for storing prepared sludge powder; and a sludge powder feeder unit (190, 190a) for feeding sludge powder discharged from the sludge powder storage unit via a pneumatic conveying duct (200a, 200b) to a distributor (210a, 210b). The distributors (210) are connected to the final reduction reactor (30) and the preheating reactor (10), respectively, via sludge powder ducts (300 and 400) for blowing treated sludge powder. The invention reduces the amount of final sludge discharge and the treatment cost according to aftertreatment processes of sludge to enhance the productivity of the ironmaking system.

    • Disclosed is a recycling method of waste material in a coal based iron making process by using a reduction-melting apparatus which includes a reduction furnace for reducing ore and supplementary raw material, a melter gasifier for reduction-melting reduced iron fed from the reduction furnace into hot metal, a cyclone for trapping fine dust in exhaust gas from the melter gasifier to circulate trapped fine dust to the melter gasifier and to feed exhaust gas cleared of fine dust as reduction gas to the reduction furnace, and a dust burner with one end connected to the cyclone and the other end connected to the melter gasifier and for executing melting condensation to and then blowing fine dust into the melting gasifier. The recycling method used in the coal based iron making process comprises the following steps of: collecting and drying waste material so that the total composition of T.Fe, C, CaO and MgO reaches at least 50wt%; sorting dried waste material to have a particle size of 5mm or less; and blowing sorted waste material into the melter gasifier with the dust burner.
