摘要： A tamper-evident thermoplastic fitment (11a) having a spout (34a) and a closure (12) for said spout are welded to a polymer-coated paperboard or to a flexible plastic container via a flange (31a). The fitment and closure are molded simultaneously but with a substantial space between them. They are interconnected by elongates runner (42a) which is formed when molten plastic is conducted from the closure to the fitment. Upon retraction of the mold core, the closure is pulled into the spout until shoulders on the parts engage, whereupon the closure is stripped from the core. The runer comprises a tear tab which slides through an aperture (28) on the closure. When the parts engage, tangs (44a) on the tear tab slip through the aperture, making the assembly tamper-evident. The tab may be pulled by the consumer to open the container. The closure may be unscrewed from the spout.

摘要： A tamper-evident cap (26) is formed with a central sleeve (28). The bottom of the sleeve is closed off by a removable plug (46). The exterior of the closure is formed with a bead (58). The water dispenser is formed with an adaptor consisting of an open bottom outer sleeve (60) into which the neck of the container with the closure in place thereon fits. Centrally disposed in the outer sleeve is a dispenser tube (62) which enters the cap sleeve (28) causing the plug (46) to slide out of the tube so that the liquid in the container flows out through the dispenser tube into the dispenser. When the container is removed the plug re-attaches to seal the container as it is removed. The exterior skirt of the plug and the interior wall of the sleeve are seamless.

摘要： A thin-walled cup-shaped container (11) molded of polypropylene, or other suitable material, is formed with a tamper-evident band (21) initially positioned outside the lip (14) at the top of the container wall (12). The lower edge of the band is connected to the container by spaced frangible bridges (23). A lid (36) closes off the top of the container and has outer and inner skirts (42, 44), respectively, fitting outside and inside the container lip. The upper end of the band is formed into an annular inward projection overlying the periphery of the lid. Forming the retainer projection is accomplished by bringing a heated tool into contact with the band to heat it until it is near its melting temperature. The tool has slanted walls converging at a radius and shaped to bend the projection approximately horizontally inward. The lid cannot be removed without tearing off the band.

摘要： A method and apparatus (50) for sealing a container (8) with a cap (10) and a seal member which is adhered to the neck (14). The seal member is inserted into the cap before the cap is applied to the neck by moving the cap in an axially downward direction relative to the neck to substantially seat the cap on the neck so that the cap cannot be removed without unscrewing the cap. The seal member is firmly held against the neck by the cap while the seal disc is adhered to the neck. In one modification, a pressure applicator (57) applies a downward directed force to urge the cap against the neck while the seal disc is adhered to the neck. In another modification, the cap is tightened onto the neck at a fine adjustment station to eliminate gaps between the underside of the cap and the neck before the seal disc is adhered to the neck.
