摘要： An apparatus and method for use with an internal combusting engine that accurately control ignition timing. Reference signals are created which are used to determine both the mean engine speed as well as irregular speed. Control logic uses this engine information to accurately predict the future rotational position of the engine. The ignition timing is then adjusted to release the spark at the appropriate time.

摘要： An apparatus and method for use with, a carbureted internal combustion engine that accurately controls the amount of fuel that passes through the carburetor (204) into the combustion chamber of the engine. A controlled triggering system controls the activation and deactivation of a solenoid (206). The solenoid, in turn, operates a plunger (208) that varies the flow of fuel during the fuel intake cycle of the engine depending on the amount of fuel needed by the engine under any operating load. Thus, an engine can run leaner under partial load and run richer during periods of load and acceleration. By controlling the air-to-fuel ratio lower engine emissions and fuel consumption can be achieved.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion detection device of burnt air-fuel mixture of an engine, since combustion ion detection in a combustion chamber is effective for detection of knocking or misfire, and a reform measure of a signal-to noise ratio with reduced cost is required for a small-sized internal combustion engine.
SOLUTION: Scaling circuitry 78 such as a variable voltage divider circuit is connected to an output side of an ion detection device to adjust an output signal to be a proper value. In this case, the scaling circuitry has a plurality of resistors and switches, and the switches are selectively opened/closed based on the comparison with a reference value to adjust the output signal to become a value suitable for the use of measurement.
