    • An analysis system has an audio signal data communication system for receiving contents of a buffer where the buffer is configured to buffer at least one microphone signal responsive to an acoustic field proximate to a monitoring assembly at a remote location from the analysis system and a server having a data processing system configured to receive at least a portion of the contents of the buffer and configured to analyze at least the portion of the contents of the buffer. The data processing system includes an audio analysis system configured to analyze the at least the portion of the content of the buffer to process a sound into a response or action.     • A sound pressure level (SPL) monitoring information system includes a database configured to store data including at least one of a list of earpiece devices and associated instrument response functions, an audiogram compensation information, or an earpiece frequency response function. The system further includes an SPL monitoring system comprising a microphone. The SPL monitoring system can be configured to receive a plurality of signals, each signal representing a respective SPL of sound pressure values over a time duration for a particular frequency band, the SPL monitoring system configured to determine at least one of: (a) an exposure time duration when at least one of the signals exceeds a SPL threshold value for the particular frequency band or (b) a recovery time duration when at least one of the signals is less than the SPL threshold value for the particular frequency band. Other embodiments are disclosed.

    • A server includes one or more processors, and a computer readable memory coupled to the one or more processors. The computer readable memory contains instructions which when executed by the one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform the operations of receiving captured audio via an microphone of a mobile or wearable device at a location remote from the server via a communications module operatively coupled to the mobile or wearable device, analyzing the captured audio to provide analyzed captured audio, and sending information to the communications module in response to the analyzed captured audio, the information including instructions to initiate control of media content or initiate operations of the mobile or wearable device.     • A control device configurable to couple to one or more devices having different control functions and a method of facilitating remote control of at least one device having different control functions includes a processor that receives an instruction for at least one of the control functions and additional information from the at least one device, the processor including a plurality of processing algorithms, the additional information received from the at least one device including at least a locally transmitted data signal.
