    • PURPOSE:To extremely improve sensitivity and to enable measurement of ozone concn. over a wide range by using a carbon-reinforced electrode as an electrode. CONSTITUTION:Ozonized water 2 flowing in a piping 1 comes into contact with a sensor 3 installed at the intermediate point of the piping 1 and the ozone concn. is measured. A sensor 3 has 3 kinds of electrodes; the carbon-reinforced electrode 4 which is the core of a sharp pencil, a reference electrode 5 which is a satd. calomel electrode and a counter electrode 6 which is platinum electrode. The front end part of the carbon-reinforced electrode 4, the front end part of the reference electrode 5 and the counter electrode 6 are disposed in proximity to each other to a sensor fixing member 7 so as to minimize the change in the current value occurring in liquid resistance. The sensor 3 is generally installed in the ozonized water in a suitable container or inside of the piping. The current generated in the sensor 3 is detected as a current value through a potentiostat 8 and the detected value is displayed or recorded in a display part 9. The sensitivity of the device is extremely improved in this way and the measurement of the ozone concn. over a wide range is enabled.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize the potential of an instrument so that the instrument can make accurate measurement for a long period and can be made compact by using an insoluble solid metallic electrode as a reference electrode. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 3 is brought into contact with an ozone solution 2 flowing through a pipeline 1 and measures the concentration of the ozone solution 2. The sensor 3 is provided with a working electrode 4 reinforced with carbon, etc., reference electrode 5 made of an insoluble solid metal, such as gold, etc., and counter electrode 6 made of platinum, etc., and the electrodes 4, 5, and 6 are united in one body with a sensor fixing member 7 made of a vinyl chloride resin, etc., with their front ends being brought nearer to each other. While the electrode 5 is maintained within a fixed potential range within which the ozone solution 2 can make oxidation reduction reactions, the electrode 4 can detect the concentration of the solution 2 by generating a stable current in according to the concentration, since the counter electrode 6 is used. In addition, since the insoluble solid metal of the electrode 5 does not melt in the solution 2 and the electrode 5 has a strong strength, this instrument can be made compact.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an ozone sensor generating no change in the detected concn. of ozone even when a core electrode is renewed when the concn. of ozone is measured using the core electrode such as a carbon reinforced electrode. CONSTITUTION:A core electrode control part 7 is arranged around the core electrode 3 of a sensor body 18 having the core electrode 3 and an opposed electrode 16 and the interval between the false plane formed to the leading end part of the control part 7 and the opening part 11 permitting the core electrode 3 to protrude is made constant. When a knock is pushed to push out the core electrode 3 from a core electrode body while the leading end of the control part 7 is brought into contact with a plane at the time of the renewal of the core electrode 3, the leading end of the pushed-out core electrode 3 comes into contact the plane to stop. Since the interval between the opening part 11 and the plane is kept constant, the surface area of the exposed core electrode 3 becomes constant and the measuring error caused by the change of the surface area can be eliminated.
